That might be the single dumbest thing I have ever heard. Since when does someone need to be an expert to form an opinion? Its THEIR opinion it can be formed based on anything.

Now I guess your saying the 4 month report outside the lines did is all lies? If so then I guess I am wrong. But based on their report he did take money and gifts in direct violation of NCAA Rules. Regarding him wanting to be a star and only planning on playing a year anyway, I said "I believe he said" I did not say it was a direct quote from him. And dont give me that "he wanted to win" crap. USC has a pretty good program but a kid with his skills could of gone to MUCH better programs with a MUCH better chance of winning. Also he would of been willing to stick around and build something, not jump ship after a year.

I dont expect you to be able to look at this with any type of intelligence as I know anything USC is golden to you. Hell I bet you actually think OJ is innocent.

No one said you need to be an expert to form an opinion. But if your a rational human being then you would wait until there is actually physical evidence before condemning someone. And as for your last statement, last time I checked, it's innocent until proven guilty. OJ says he was just his mentor, Louis Johnson says otherwise, now can you please present me the evidence that shows OJ is lying? Louis Johnson is telling the truth? You speak like it was already proven. No thanks, I don't jump to conclusions like you. I would rather wait until all the evidence comes out before I condemn OJ for putting USC at risk of getting penalized. And to be honest, I don't give a shit what you expect me to do. You're a homer, we are all homers. Stop with your little schoolgirl jabs.

You obviously don't know why he came to USC. Your just taking guesses here. He came here because he wanted to win a championship with USC. Not with your precious Duke and not with North Carolina. Just because those were successful schools, doesn't mean he had to go there. USC was obviously his favorite college, and he is not obligated to choose one of the top basketball teams just because he was highly rated. Why did Rose choose Memphis? Why did Reddick choose Duke? Why did Love choose UCLA? That is just ignorant to say he chose to come to USC because he wanted to be in LA spotlight. Way off base.

I refuse to believe he chose USC because he wanted to win. If that's the case, then he really is dumb because there were plenty of schools with better chances at winning.

He wanted to win at USC. He was a USC fan before he even signed the LOI.

If he wanted to win a championship at USC he should have stayed another year because I would have bet a lot of money they weren't going to come close last year.

Although, if everybody would have stayed from the previous USC team, they would have been one of my favorites to win.

He was a 20 year old freshman. His intentions the whole time was to stay just 1 year.

Yeah, we all knew that. But I'm just saying if his intentions was to win a championship in USC in one year, then he is delusional.

Because they are good programs?

And you cant say his goal was to win when he didnt pick a top program, and he didnt make a commitment to the program he did choose to stay and help build it into a contender for a title. Now of course he wanted to win while at USC, but he did not choose USC so he could win, there is a difference.

As I said about his intentions for the 3rd time I said "I believe" never said it was a fact but that I believe he had said he wanted to be in LA to be a star of a team.

And now I am going to let you put your foot right in your mouth...

Read this NY Times article (unless you think they are lying just like you have claimed ESPN Outside the Lines is, ps Guillroy has gotten in trouble for this before)
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/21/sports/ncaabasketball/21usc.html?ref=sports

Heres a high light though straight from the mouth of OJ's "mentor" aka cash cow...

“Why aren’t you at Arizona or Connecticut?” Floyd recalled asking.

The man explained that Mayo wanted to market himself before going to the N.B.A., and that Los Angeles would give him the best possible platform.

“Then why aren’t you at U.C.L.A.?” Floyd asked.

The man shook his head. U.C.L.A. had already won 11 national championships. It had already produced many N.B.A. stars. Mayo wanted to be a pioneer for a new era.

“Let me call him,” Floyd said.

The man shook his head again. “O. J. doesn’t give out his cell,” he said. “He’ll call you.”

Floyd remembers the meeting lasting 45 minutes. He learned that the man’s name was Ronald Guillory, and that he was an event promoter in Los Angeles who had befriended Mayo.

So please come back and try to tell me OJ's entire goal in leaving his small WV school to come to LA for what he said from the start was only going to be 1 year was to win a championship and not for the attention.

He said it at a USC-ASU football game. Not only that, he stated many times that he wanted to come to USC to win. I don't why you think posting comments from any person other OJ would prove your point let alone make me put my foot in my mouth. I'm more closer to the situation than you. You don't know what you're talking about. You don't know what OJ is like as person, so I'm baffled as to why you're calling him these names. You obviously don't like him, maybe it's because he didn't want to go to Duke, I don't know. And for the last time, he didn't pick a "top program" because USC was his favorite college and he wanted to lead USC to a title. I don't how this is hard for you to understand. Does USC have that bad of a basketball program that you have to question a top recruits intentions for coming here? I would love to here your reason why #3 overall recruit DeRozan chose USC instead of one of the "top programs".

Yea I guess you cant read. Lets try this one more time, try actually reading the words this time.

You are "more closer" to the situation? First great choice of words. Second what are you his cousin? Physically living closer does not actually mean anything. You said yourself Guillroy was his mentor. OJ sent him to USC to talk to them on his behalf so I would assume that what Guillroy told the coach would be considered true. I guess you claim that he sent his mentor there and then his mentor made up a bunch of lies?

Also the coach of USC was even baffled that he was interested in coming there, so if the teams own coach was confused I would think you would understand how other people would be.

And again he did not go to USC to win a title. If that was his goal he would still be there helping the program even more. Hansbrough is a guy who went to school to win and is savoring every moment of it he can get. OJ wanted a stepping stone to the NBA.

I dont like him because he did not go to Duke? I would of never wanted him at Duke and they would have never taken him. I have no interest in a kid who says from the start he intends on leaving after 1 season.

And no USC is not that bad of a program, but if your main goal is to win a title and your only going to give yourself 1 season to do it, USC was a terrible choice. Now if you are willing to commit to the program for 4 years because you really want to win then its not a bad choice, but he wasnt willing to do that. He wanted to market himself and get to the NBA.

I am not saying hes a bad person for doing that, but stop trying to make him look like he wanted to be the savior of USC basketball and usher in a new era for the school when that was not his goal.

As far as him taking money goes... do I know anything for a fact? Nope but neither do you. All I know is the guy at the center of it has gotten in trouble for the same thing before, and an ESPN 4 month long report says it found information that he did receive all kinds of gifts and people close to him have confirmed it. So no offense but I am going to believe them over you at this point.

Just to keep my list up to date...

These are all things you are claiming:

Guillroy is only his mentor?
Guillroy also lied to Floyd the head coach of USC during the recruiting process?
Mayo's only motive at USC was he loved the school and wanted to win a title there?
Mayo received no gifts ever, he followed all NCAA rules(just like Reggie)?
OJ (simpson) didnt do it?
Dwayne Jarett was the best WR in his draft class?
Mike Williams is not a bust?

Basically anything USC is perfect I guess.

There goes the schoolgirl jabs again, I'm not even going to respond to your childish insults.

And yes I'm saying Mayo didn't receive any gifts and until that is actually proven otherwise, why would I think he did? Because some guy that is out on a vendetta says he did? I don't care how long OTL did a report, all they came back with was word of moth from the same man who is apparently out of OJ's "inner circle" and was looking to cash in on OJ from the get go and now that he realizes he isn't getting anything, what does he do? What would you do?

And again he did not go to USC to win a title.

I'm sorry, what? Are you telling me what I heard come from his own mouth was a lie? You calling the kid a liar, you're unbelievable! You don't even know the guy, hell you don't know the guy saying OJ took gifts, yet you're willing to believe him, why? Because ESPN ran the story? You believe ESPN? ESPN is a company, who covers sports, ESPN is not a person and the the people who work for them aren't oracles and they don't know everything. ESPN has no say so in this, they're just covering the story, all the allegations and apparent evidence is coming from Louis Johnson. Who is just one man, a man who is not happy that he isn't cashing in on OJ. But just because ESPN ran the story, you believe him, give me a break, that's not even a respectable thing to believe let alone bring it up in an argument.

I'm closer to the situation than you are for one I followed OJ the entire season, I know more about the kid than you do and that was obvious when called him dumb and an egomaniac. Didn't you call him a punk before? So according to you, he's a dumb egomaniac punk liar. I wouldn't be surprised if you thought he was a thug. And two, I'm a USC fan. I follow everything USC. Did you even watch a single USC game the entire basketball season? Going off your post, it would appear that you not only attend USC, but you have hung out with OJ on multiple occasions, that is the only explanation as to why you're calling him all these names. Incredible that you can accomplish all this from your little home in Maryland was it?

What's funny is, USC does not have a good basketball program. So if he wanted more media attention, he would have gone to UNC. Instead he came here to USC and became a leader. People thought he was a selfish ball hog with character issues who only looked out for his own interest, if you followed the program closely, you would know that wasn't the case, actually, not even close. Had he not signed with USC, there isn't a university on this planet that would have turned down the #1 overall recruit.

BUMP

I'm glad to see Syracuse near the top🙂 Now that they've got very experienced sophomores and Devendorf and Raytins back... I think this could be a big year for Cuse!!

The amazing Curry dropped 44 and he didn't even play good. He would have had 55-60 if he shot like he normally does.

I am so happy College Basketball is back.

Glad coolege baskeball is here..

so far the season has been going the way I thought

with the good teams clobbering the non-conference weaklings they schedule as warmups?

I can't wait for the Big East games to get going. That conference is going to be flat out crazy.
