After the game they had their usual after game party to celebrate Griffindor's win, but Harry didn't feel like celebrating. He didn't understand how he failed to catch the Snitch. Maybe it was because he was worrying about what would happen to Fred. The knot in his stomach got tighter. He couldn't think of Fred right now...not just yet.
The dormitory room opened, and in came Hermione and Ron. They had worried looks on their faces. Hermione looked like she was on the verge of tears. Ron looked worried, but didn't act like it. He knew that Harry was troubled a lot lately since that night in the Room of the Requirement, so he tried not to irritate Harry.
"Harry are you okay?" Hermione asked Harry.
"Yeah mate, you didn't eat dinner at all. Hermione's been in a right state. We just wanted to come and see if you are okay."
"I'm fine." Harry lied. He didn't want to worry them with his stupid worries. Ron should be the one worried about his brother instead of him.
"Harry, I know that you aren't fine. Something's troubling you, and we want to help." said Hermione casually.
"I SAID I AM FINE!" Harry bellowed out. He's held his emotions in for too long. Hermione stormed out of the room, tears falling to the ground.
"You know mate, you shouldn't have yelled at her like that." Ron said firmly.
"Yeah your the one to talk. I try to tell you that when you two fight." Harry said flatly.
"Don't take it out on us because you didn't catch the Snitch!" Ron shouted.
"I'm not worrying about the stupid game! I'm worried about your brother, you know, Fred!" Harry shouted right back. Ron went silent. Then he finally said:
"I'm sorry Harry, I didn't know that you were thinking about Fred. It's hard to tell what's going on anymore. Especially with You-Know-Who. out and about, creating havoc every where, and the Death Eaters are after the plant. You've done so much for our family Harry. You've saved my dad, and Ginny, I don't think you should worry about Fred."
"Have you gone mental? I want to help Fred. I enjoy your family. Your family is the closest thing I have to a real family. I care for your family members as much as you do!" Harry said ending the fight.
"Does that mean we are still going after the plant?" Ron asked awe-struck.
"Of course it does. How many times have we survived against Voldemort? Haven't we dueled Death Eaters before?" Harry asked to Ron. Ron flinched at Voldemort's name.
"Well you've done all of that stuff." Ron said doubtingly.
"With other people's help! What difference does it make now, that we've done all of this stuff before? All it is is some Death Eaters and remember who taught you how to defend yourself from them."
"Harry, you are mental. You should talk to Hermione." Ron said to Harry.
"Right. See you in a bit then." Harry said leaving Ron in the room. He climbed down the stairs when he saw Hermione alone in the Common Room crying. She heard Harry coming and started for the girl's dormitory.
"Hermione, wait...can we talk?"
"Yeah sure..." Hermione stifles a hiccup. She and Harry sat down in their favorite cozy armchair in front of the roaring fire that the house elves put on. She sat on Harry's lap as she forced herself to stop crying.
"Hermione, I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier. I'm just under a lot of stress. And no, it wasn't because of me losing the Snitch to Malfoy. I'm worried about Ron's family, and me and Ron were talking, and we decided that we are still going for the plant. That's if you're still coming that is."
"Harry, I just was scared when you yelled at me like that. I was scared that Voldemort was their in your place, trying to ruin our lives. I thought I was losing you to Voldemort. Too bad Snape didn't finish teaching you Occlumency (sp?). It would be useful to block Voldemort. So how do you plan on getting their?" She added in.
Harry wasn't sure how they were going to get their. Maybe they could Apperate their, if they already started their lessons, but that wouldn't start until after Christmas break, and they had to leave before then. Brooms would be an ideal way, but he wasn't sure if everyone knew how to ride a broom. Then it hit him. The would have to use the Therstals (sp?) like how they did when they went to the Ministry of Magic in hopes of saving Sirius.
But he knew that he had to think this through. Last time he went charging somewhere it almost got everyone killed. He didn't want to put their lives at stake. Maybe he should go alone, or at least with Hermione and Ron. They would want to come with him no matter what, but he didn't want the group, Dumbledore's Army to go. He wouldn't allow it, and since he was the leader, they would be forced to listen to him. He told this to Hermione.
"Only if you feel like it would be enough to save Fred."
Post more about a half an hour or so...
"Yeah, I think that it would be the best though, if it was just me going. But I know how you two are, you got to insists that I'm mental, and that you would help with whatever it is, know matter what."
"You got that right." said Ron coming from upstairs. "You must be thick if you think I'm going to let you go all alone to risk your life, when your the 'Chosen One'" Ron added, holding back a laugh.
"Do you know that sometimes you can be like Fred and George, and other times your like your brother, Percy?" Harry asked, purposely irritating him.
"I am nothing like that good for nothing son of a..."
"Ron calm down, I was just joking." Harry added hastily. He then turned to his girlfriend. "Hermione, do you think you can tell the rest of them to meet in the Room of Requirement in half an hour?" Harry asked her.
"Yes, but we would have to keep..." Hermione started.
"Thanks." Harry said, kissing her softly on the lips. "Ron, you can go get Brooke, and we'll meet down in the meeting room in fifteen minutes before the rest of them come." Harry left the room to prepare for the meeting. Fifteen minutes later, Ron, Hermione, and Brooke walked in. Harry filled in everything that they went over last year quickly, he didn't have enough time to teach her the spells, but she mastered all but the Patronous. She was Hermione's twin. She likes can do spells as fast as her.
Another fifteen minutes went by and the room was filled with everybody that was supposed to be with them. Harry called for silence after a few minutes of loud talking.
"I've asked all of you to come down here to tell you that we won't be needing your help to get the plant. Too much danger is at stake. Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters will be their to kill of us. So I don't want to risk the lives of you, so I'm asking you to stay here, at Hogwarts, where its safe."
"Harry, we don't care what you say...we're coming with you." said fellow Griffindor Seamus. All the others shook their head in agreement.
"NO, I WILL NOT HAVE ANYONE ELSE DIE BECAUSE OF ME. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW IT IS FOR ME. THAT DAY WHEN I WENT TO THE MINISTRY THOSE THAT WENT WITH ME ALMOST DIE, AND MY GODFATHER, SIRIUS BLACK, DIED BECAUSE OF MY STUPIDITY!!!" Harry bellowed to the D.A.
The members had shocked expressions in their faces. One because he just shouted at all of them, and two because they had no clue that he, Sirius Black, was his godfather.
"You had a mass murder for a godfather?" asked Zacharah (sp?) Smith.
"HE WAS NOT A MURDERER! PETER PETTIGREW WAS THE ONE WHO KILLED ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE! HE WAS THE ONE WHO FRAMED SIRIUS, AND TURNED INTO MY FRIEND'S RAT AND HID FOR THIRTEEN YEARS!"
"Pettigrew died because of Sirius. The biggest thing they found was a finger. Try saying that he's innocent now!"
"You better learn to keep your mouth shut before I decide to hex you." muttered Ginny.
"Go on, give it a try!" shouted Smith. Smith pulled out his wand, as well as Ginny. Everyone was watching them. No one was speaking at all. Harry pulled out his wand and shouted:
"Expelliarmus! " Harry shouted. Both wands flew into his hand. Smith didn't look to pleased, and Ginny burst out shouting.
"Harry, he was making fun of Sirius in front of you. I was just..." Ginny started.
"Enough Ginny." Ron and Hermione said in unison. She sat back down quietly. Harry tossed their wands back to them.
"You should all head back to your Houses now. Harry said to them ending the meeting. They all left without protest.
Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione, were in the Common Room, talking about what happened at the meeting. Harry's blood still boiled from shouting at Smith. He didn't blame Ginny for wanting to hex him. He would have hexed him too, if he wasn't under so much pressure.
"For the last time you're not coming with us. Your far inexperinenced and your not even close to becoming of age."
"Last year, I helped with the Death Eaters, what difference does it make now?" Ginny whined.
"Fred's my brother as well as Ron's and your only a year older than me!"
"She does have a point, mate. She can make her own decisions as well. As well as the rest of the lot. If they want to come than they come if they want to. They know what kind of danger they would be facing. You can't stop them from not coming, and these are the best students in Hogwarts, because of you."
"Do you know how much you sound like Percy right now?" Harry asked irritably.
"Shut it!" shouted Ron. "I am nothing like that stupid bloke!" Ron roared.
"You are sure acting like him!" Harry shouted right back.
"Harry Ron. what's all the shouting about?" asked a sleepy Dean.
"Harry was just being his usual thick self, saying that he wants to save my brother with out help."
"I never said that!" Harry bellowed out.
"It seems like it!" Ron hollered back.
"GUYS!" GInny shouted. "We all have Fred's best interests at heart, and we don't need to be wasting our energy bickering at each other!"
"I know that." Ron muttered. "I'm going to bed." Ron walked off towards his dormitory, followed by Harry after an hour of silence.
Oh well...
The next morning Harry and Ron forgot about their bitter argument. The morning owls arrived with the Daily Prophet. Harry dropped his glass when he saw who was on the front page. Fred Weasley was lying in the hospital bed at St. Mungoes. He grabbed the paper before Hermine had the chance to pay the owl. He read it quickly then read it out loud to the whole Griffindor table.
"The Ministry recently found out that someone lays at St. Mungoes, by Death Eaters that were at Diagon Alley. This person is one of the owners of the new store, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, Fred Weasley. His twin brother, George Weasley, was fighting off the Death Eaters, when one of them shot the spell Advada Kedavera, only it didn't have the Kedavera. Fred jumped in the way of the spell and was left their to die. If it wasn't for the concern people that witnessed this tragic accident, then Fred Weasley would be dead.
We've got told here at the Prophet, that Fred Weasley's condition worsened. Without the proper medicine he will die within a month. Article continues on page 10." Harry looked at Ron and Ginny. They both started to develop tears in their eyes.
"Worsened? What could be worse than being close to death?" Ron asked weakly.
"I think that they mean that if he does get the medicine in time, he wouldn't have a very successful recovery." Hermione said feebly to Ron.
"That means we will need to leave as soon as possible." Harry said calmly.
"How soon?" Ginny asked.
"We leave tonight, after dinner. Hermione, use the coin to tell the group to meet back at the Room of Requirement at break time." He kissed her on the lips as he and Ron went to Common Room. Hermione only had one class different then them which was Ancient Runes.
Ron didn't feel like doing anything during break after receiving the shocking news from the Prophet. The other Griffindors tried to cheer him up, but the only thing that made Ron do was going to the library. He doesn't like going their unless he really has to. But being their didn't really help either. People came up to him and told him how sorry they were to hear what happened. Madam Pince got real angry at the people coming up to Ron, so she kicked them out of the library. Harry spent the rest of the break getting ready for the trip to the North Sea. This was a very desperate mission that they were doing. If they failed then they wouldn't be able to save Fred. After Harry got all of the things he wanted to bring, he went down to lunch to eat. He met Hermione their.
why does every one keep changing what i write? i write that the purple liquid that the doctors have now will keep Fred alive untill 2 months is over. then you write that with the Dailey profet or whatever thaat he will die WEEKS before the doctors said he would. or didn't you bother to read what i wrote?!? i mean really! you people can't keep switching this stuff around!
now that i got that off my chest i thought that maybe they could make a portkey, like when they went to the Quiddich world cup thing. yeah, it would be illegeal, but there despret, right? let me know. sorry bout the yelling, but this is the second time someone forgot about what i wrote and made up their own stuff so that what i wrote didn't matter anymore. Its seems like all of you are out to get Fred. whatever, carry on.
i was just wondering...who wouldn't know how to ride a broom? i mean some ppl are afraid of hights and that sort of stuff, but they would have to deal with that on the Thersel (sp?) anyway....that was bugging me...anyway...yeah, why is everyone soo eger to kill off Fred? your all probably trying to make the situation harder on Harry and them, cause..well, that's just how things work...but i mean really...Fred is in enough pain and all that jazz...
on another note...i wanted to say that the reasion that i wasn't posting was that, because of reading the 6th book, i don't feel that this is really important...think that we should start a new one for the 7th book..you know what i mean? but if you all want to finish this first, i will post as well...i was just wondering if anyone else feells the same way.
maybe i will post later, but i have to do something else at the moment, and i won't get back to the computer till, like, midnight...so if you all want to caontine, then i will post tomorrow!
