General Kaliero
F = ma, beeyotches.
I've managed to play a few hours, and I have several opinions on it...
LIKES
The Tales of Souls is personalized for the most part, with a story that really makes the characters people instead of just characters.
Character creation is really nice, lots of diverse choices.
LOTS OF CHARACTERS! YAY!
Most of the costumes are really good, and most of the updates of SCII characters have fixed problems I had with previous costumes
Soul Blade characters! Woohoo!
Tira is truly bipolar, with different kinds of voice for manic and depressed. That, plus her hula hoop of death, makes her, for me at least, freakier than Voldo.
Raphael is a darker character now, almost a vampire.
DISLIKES
Some fights are horrendously one-sided (Try Xianghua against Talim or Tira against Cervantes, you'll see what I mean).
During the cutscenes, most of the action icons are too small and hard to see to hit in time (Has NEVER dodged Cervantes' entrance scene attack). Something like RE4's button indicators would have been much better.
Some voices and spellings have been changed, and even for the ones that are better, it kind of destroyed continuity.
Zasalamel is the main bad guy (Excluding Night Terror). I hate that.
Most Create-a-Character stuff has to be unlocked through hours of play! Argh!
Stuff seems a bit more scattered, compared to SCII fairly streamlined menu system.
and my final dislike, which is definitely due to the fact that I had the GC SCII...
THE PS2 CONTROLS ARE WAY TOO LOOSE! I have to play with the Directional buttons. I should not be forced to play with directional buttons in a 3D arena.
