Soul Cal 3 has been known to corrupt memory cards.. I've not experienced any issues with it however.. especially since I no longer play it
heres the D-Lo on wiki
File corruption problemsAnother issue that arose during the game's release was the file corruption problem. Players were finding their save files (usually the Chronicles of the Sword file) corrupted for seemingly no reason. This led to severe frustration since most of the game's content was unlocked in the Chronicles of the Sword mode. The corruption usually occurs when a player erases or moves any game data not related to Soul Calibur III from his or her memory card when they have data from Soul Calibur III on the same card. The corruptions mostly seem to corrupt only the Chronicles of the Sword data, though sometimes all of the game data in Soul Calibur III can be corrupted. Save data from other games on the memory card will still load properly, though there have been a small unknown number of complaints at sites such as GameFAQs where players have had their whole memory card corrupted.

😊Glad I didn't purchase this game being that I already had Soul Calibur 2 and didn't see any advantage to owning the same game with a different number tagged to end.

It isn't really the SAME, they took the time to ruin the game play in light of it being a Ps2 exclusive, Create a fighter is added, new mini modes, and overall entirely new levels. 😕

I think he means that considering they didnt have to do any extra coding to port the system to different consoles, they could have at least ran the game through rigorous testing to ensure that things like "variable cancel glitch" and memory card corruption were weeded out before the game went gold
The real reason it was messed up was because there wasn't an arcade release first. The arcade release allows them to get feedback from players so they can eliminate glitches and re-balance the characters.
It didn't happen with III, which is why Talim suddenly sucked and Xianghua could kick everyone's ass.

X was always, always good though, only in SC4 does she not obtain her Top-Tier Status. However, SC1 X was super beastly, SC2 X was a complete monster machine, and SC3 X is yet again, another freak of nature. However, Talim without a doubt received a huge monkey spank from Namco, she was actually a contender in SC2, but become a mouse in SC3. She does too many stupid things, for no reason.
The problem wasn't necessarily the character's being too overpowered, although the Sisters where ridiculous in this game, and Xianghua was just unbelievable, however alot of people really disliked the VC that was happening in SC3, or Variable Cancel if you.
This video shows a good example of Mitsu VCing, lol, the pawnage of it! Rekki Rocks with Mitsu btw!

I didn't like SC2...that is until I played SC3...then I was like...umm...what just happened. SC2 to SC3 is imo how it was from T5 to T6...after playing T6, it made me like T5, same with SC3. The greatest SC game is still SC1 by far, but nobody plays it anymore.
SC4 is out, so it seems to show that it's better then SC3 so far at least, we'll see what happens. However, SC3 as crazy as it was, it was still fun for me, I mean, how can I really say anything, when I was using Mitsu and I was also VCing myself 🤣.
Xianghua was wrecking in this game though...AAB is just simply ridiculous, and arguably her easily most spammable move. Plus she had killer 8-Way runs, and her 66K was great, I can't remember, but it was either on hit or on block, that it could go into throw mixups, lol, she was rockin, the Jin Kazama of Soul Calibur from a Tier Wise perspective, but more like a Ling Xiayou on steroids though.
