How about the fertiliser that the farmers use to grow their crops..rain gets on to this it runs off into streams rivers etc.. this will kill water life.
Correct, but a bit incomplete. The fertiliser is indeed the cause of death, but not directly. Fertiliser itself is not very harmful to aquatic fauna, but what it does is make algae grow at an tremendous rate. The masses of algae clog the water and block sunlight, that's what kills the fishies.

Who named Hovis bread... Hovis.. 😑 ?(I don't know if this bread is available outside the UK..)
The word 'Hovis' was invented by a London student named Herbert Grimes in a national competition set by S. Fitton & Sons Ltd to find a name for their bread.
next then..
What is the difference between turtles, terrapins, and tortoises ?

Turtles live aquatic lives, Terrapins live semi-aqautic lives at river mouths and tortoises are real land-animals?

To your original question, I was going to respond that the answer is debatable.
Amerigo Vespucci.Ceterum censeo OTF esse delendam.
Ahh see this is what is commonly thought (and is probably right)
But there was a Welsh man called Richard Amerike who is thought by many to be the person the US is named after.. the main reason why people think this is because country's that are named after people are always named after the surname.. not Christian name.. Richard Amerike is thought to have financed a trip to Newfoundland in 1497 I think.. 10 years before Vespucci's name was given..
All though this is just a theory..
Yeah sorry I changed the question..
