The answer is actually neither.
The two of them rotate about their common centre of gravity which is actually inside the earth's crust but not at its centre. So, the moon is not revolving around the earth. That means all your teachers are wrong. ✅
When talking orbit, it has to be the moon being the satellite. Earth is older and much heavier so it cannot be forced to rotate around the moon. It has been in it's orbit around the sun for ages when the moon came up. The moon has afflicted earth, but can't be of enough influence to cause earth to fully orbit this new object.
