If war was not an option of defense,what would be...

Tough question: If the U.S or other countries did not have the option of war as a defense mechanism to fight terrorism ,etc. what could we possibly do to defend ourselves from evil? How would countries try to protect themselves from people trying to wipe them out because of religion ?

Personally, I think war is the only option because if people die for thier country,we all realize how much our homeland means to us . But perhaps there will be a way in the future.... 😉

the USA NOT going to war in every country would already be a good step to stop terrorism
them stopping with policing the world and butting into everything would be even better

Bin Laden said he didn't atatck the US because of our form of government or freedom, he stated another country that is a democracy that he wants to leave alon, but he hates america because......drum roll please......we support those dirty jews in Isreal.

I think after we were attacked though in their minds in the bush adminastration it was time to clean house and go onto the offensive. Isolationism leads to resentment. How can a country that is deficient in essential raw materials be able to survive without importing them?

'Ideological isolationism'...now there's an idea. I think that would work, but the nature of humanity decrees that it is an impossibility.

A little more than 1500 people have died i believe. Stop whining! I value those lives and I would die for my country too but you know; those losses are NOTHING compared to most other wars. The ends justifies the means.

I don't think moviejunky meant it that way. Look at the reasons for us going into WW I or WW2. Pearl harbor anyone??? We beat the Japs down and the loss of life from Pearl was almost that of the two towers.
Like I said- the ends justifies the means-- Look at Japan after the occupation; one of the worlds industrial superpowers; look at south korea after they we're saved from communism. Their economy is great. Afganistan-- free elections anyone? And they had Taliban training camps there too, thats one reason for war with them. Did you know that? Iraq massacered thousands upon thousands of its own people; defied the US and UN. They did support terrorism despite what most people say.

About the Saudis; yes the royal family paints a very bad image of their government. Yes Osama is a Saudi but he was in Afganistan. That's why we went there.
