I can't really see what all the fuss is about! The original looked a very made for television bore with James Brolin who was totally unconvincing going ape (unlike Jack in "The Shining"😉. The remake was as about what you can expect from American remakes these days. Enough said!
Best of the bunch was "Amityville II: The Posession" IMO. Incest, patricide, exorcisms, a demon epupting from a head and best of all Burt (Rocky's father in law) Young having his head shotgun blasted off in a scene that would give the "Maniac" a run for his money...
