Ratzinger was twelve-years old the same year was 1939 and thats when WWII broke out. are you telling me that at 12 years old Ratzinger was all happy and geared up to be a Nazi and go to war ??

If he was born in 1927 and the war ended in 1945, he was just 18 years-old....tell me how much belief one has in the Nazi ideology at 18 years especially when his father was against the Nazis + that he was not part of the youth organization.
2) You make up a ridiculous association saying that he was a nazi in uniform. One does not need to be uniformed to have Nazi ideologies....

2)I meant the army uniform. I'm not saying anything about his belief... what I'm saying its that he was indeed IN THE NAZI ARMY.... after that (don't know how long afterwards) he and his brother became priests.
you see, I don't intend to point him out as Nazi (belief wise) or associate him as such, what I meant was directed to your discomfort about the other people posts.
I forgot about something and I'M SORRY for that: I'm not comfortable about other ppl calling him evil, cuz I don't think he's evil at all. I agree with you on that. It's just that I don't think his was the right choice, especially cuz he's sick 🙁.

i think not
He was in the Hitler Youth, but it was obligatory for all boys his age in Germany. He hated it, and after he got out, he became a very progressive professor until he became dean of the college of cardinals, when he became more conservative...as do most people when they get older.
I don't think that he's evil, but we are allowed to make fun of the way he looks. I'm sure he's not sitting at home on his little Pope PC crying his eyes out.
You bring up that not every soldier has to agree with GW's plans for iraq, and so on, so in the same way one can conclude that one does not have to revene the pope as God on earth in order to be a Caothlic.

i dont think that i understood ; as i know it the Pope is a servant of God not God.

Exactly. Like I said, he had no choice, but even at 12, he did not agree with it, proving that he is a very intelligent man. He's not exactly the Pope that i wanted,(I was hoping for somebody who had more support for homosexuality and teh growing AID epidemic) but he's very intelligent, and that's for damn sure. I disagree with anyone bringing up ties to Naziism, though. The German people are, in general, understandably touchy about that.

HEY HOBBE5, you weren't the only one who noticed the instant resemblence. I was watching the "Habemum Papum" on MSNBC live, got freaked out when I saw the Pope. My first thought was this guy looks and sounds like Lord Sidious. There was something in his eyes. And then all the people in the plaza started roaring like blind idiots as if this guy was a GOD. The fact that the pope doesn't get elected by the people is very dictarorial to me.
Keep a close watch on the guy.
