Why do women do such things? I cannot for the life of me get it.

Some people are nutters, that's true. And it seems to me you've had your fare share of those. But I can't help thinking that there're so many really great girls out there - and you just don't find them! Maybe there's something you can do yourself to avoid these kind of things from happening?

I got out of it, he's in Scotland now.

I love him still, because of what we went through together, and because of the situations we were in when we met. He did everything for me when I was at rock bottom, the violence only started when I began to get back my self respect, and became more independent.

I believe he felt that as he'd "remoulded" me, so to speak, I owed him, but he should not have helped me the way he did just because he wanted a hold over me. Unfortunately I truly believed he was doing what he did because he was afraid of losing me. When really all he was afraid of losing was his little project.

I'm sorry to hear that. But it's good you were smart enough to realize what was going on. I suppose it takes a lot of strength to leave a guy like that, that was pretty brave of you.

But that is the one thing I lacked whilst with him, logic. I was as brave as ever, don't get me wrong, I wasn't the battered little wifey, when he punched me, I punched him back, when he slapped me, I slapped him back etc. But obviously I came off much worse, physically and mentally.
