Superman vs. New X-men

this is a theory but doesnt storm controll how much sunlight a person recieves and couldnt she make sure supes got no sunlight making him vulnerable one time supes became vulnerable when a nuke completely blocked the sun from him

Superman has more then enough stored solar power to last him quite a while.

Iceman won't do anything to Supes. No amount of ice is going to keep Superman down externally OR internally.

Wouldn't X have mind-controlled Superman completely within seconds of receiving the assignment and then have forced him into some Kryptonite-filled area?

You underestimate how resistant Supes is to Mind Control.

I know that Xavier is awesome - possibly the best human telepathist - but Supes is 1) an alien and 2) he has a STEEL will.

If he felt himself being mind probed, he'd take out Xavier that instant.

If Supes went all out in this battle, he could take out all of these X-Men within seconds.

The telepaths are the X-Mens only hope, but I doubt they could stop the man of steel in the coupla seconds it takes for him to wipe everyone out.

no, kryptonite is the x-men's best hope, and red sunlight. 🙄

preptime= x-men win most of the time.

If they took him by suprise with both of those, then maaaaybe.

But still, he's got the ability to see if they've got those things from a distance and take any K-Nite/Red Sunilght panels out from range with heat vision.

Or if he's standing there and they whip out some fiendish cheating wepaon like that, he could simply fly to a safe distance and lob mountains at them. lol!

Okay this battle takes place in Quebec Canada. Lex Luthor hired the X-men to take out Superman for $15 million dollars. He gave them video tape and background about him. They have a week of prep time.

Who do you think will win?

Ice Man is the second, even if he become an ice giant, Supes can throw him int outerspace, and there he can't survive.

Emma Frost will go down fast too, even in diamond form, she's no match for Kal El.

Wolverine will experience the Heat Vision and nor more Logan, just adamantium bones and claws.

Beast is a non factor too, 40 tons of strenght, it's pathetic compared to Supes.

Nightcrawler teleports around, Supes sick of him, wait where he's going to reappear and K.O. him.

Storm will use her lightnings, Superman will get them without troubles and K.O. her.

Cyclops with his optical blast isn't a threat, it's sun based.

this essentially boils down to xavier v supes. and while i think xavier is mighty powerful, i don't think he could take supes out quick enough - the strength of superman's will is second to none. supes could eliminate x in a number of ways, but heat vision (not even aimed AT him but at the ground or floor, whatever) would do the trick the fastest.

the others are pretty much inconsequential in this fight and they wouldn't last more than a couple minutes, tops.

i agree with your post in all but that last bit... i am not saying for one second that cyke can hurt supes that much, but the energy in cykes blasts isnt solar...

cyclops' eyes are essentially a dimensional gateway... the solar power allows the gateway to open, and the energy that makes up that other universe comes out of his eyes...

Look at it this way: Xavier can mind control powerful telepaths so even a very strong willed non-telepath is fairly easy for Xavier (being alien has no effect on this - unless iron will was a stated Superman power). Meanwhile Phoenix will be helping Xavier, Cyclops will be blasting him, Wolverine will be slashing him, Frost will be diamond and Storm will rain down lightning. I don't think a prepared team of X-men can be taken down by Supes merely blasting away with heat vision immediately since the X-men have beaten Apocalypse, Magneto and Cassandra Nova.
