Why did they bring the Master back for the war.

Exactly. They may have called him their perfect warrior or solider, but that means they were desperate and did not think they could win any other way even if they used the Doctor.

He could have sneaked away from the war, yet how can Timelords bring someone back without breaking there rules?

If you mean how could they recall them home, Tardises have been shown to have recall devices, as we see the Time Lords summoning the Master in The Five Doctors, and the Doctor in The Trial of a Time Lord.

If you mean how they ressurected the Master, if the War takes place after the TVM from his point of view they may have brought him out of the Eye of Harmony without the Doctor's knowledge, and then gave him an offer he could not refuse.

It would have to have been a big offer.

Some fans believe they offered him a new regeneration cycle (as in The Five Doctors only he never collected that time) which in past stories has been of paramount importance to him, as he had used all his natural lives by then.

Which puts into context, which generation was Derek's Master?

Generally it is assumed he was the first Master after Eric Roberts and the first body he regenerated into after the TVM and the War. But nothing is set in stone.

Well he was found as a boy, so he must have died during the Time war.

Probably so. Then he took the first chance he could to run like heck. I can't blame him for that.

Nither can I, he knows what it's like to be exterminated.

Yes. And he saw the Emperor up close and the Emperor is one ugly customer. Like looking at something from Aliens.

And he made the Daleks insane.

The Emperor had a God complex when we first see him, but we don't know that he was that way before he fell through time and slowly rebuild his empire through the Game Station. I always assumed he got insane from being alone so long as he made new Daleks.

Well if he was the last, and alone Daleks like to be the supreme force of universe when he made the Daleks, he may have seen it as creating a new Dalek race, separate coped with battle wounds perhaps he discovered some emotions, that hurt him, so he decided to become the god of the new Dalek species, after all he was disfigured after the war, perhaps he never saw himself as a real Dalek anymore.

The Emperor looked that way during the War as far as we know.

I swear he says he was disfigured during the war.

The Emperor never said that. He said his ship was crippled but alive when it fell through the crack in time.

I swear he mentioned it, well either way in the end he met his fate.

Well, online news is now claiming the Doctor will not be in the episode that Rose will be appearing in. This seems to confirm Billie is not doing more than just 1 episode as opposed to 3 but if this is accurate (that she and Donna ad Martha team up to save the world) then won't fans feel cheated if the Doctor never comes face to face with Rose?

That was kinda what I was talking about actually.

As for the continuity of the Master- unlikely Jacobi followed Roberts. The Doctor would have recognised him.
