I really really enjoyed this first part too, very good episode.

Wow, that was really good. Really damn creepy, and I want to know exactly who Professor Song is. Future companion, possibly?

Depending on the second half, this story could surpass The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances on my list of favorites. It's already passed Blink.

I want to know who Professor Song is too, I want to know how the girl is connected to the Library, and I really want to know just what the hell happened to Donna.

I look forward to seeing the repeat to night on BBC 3

i noticed a painting on the wall of the little girls front room that looked like Rose with a painting of a wolfs head below it

I think that very quickly became one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who. Hopefully the second part is equally as thrilling as this one was.

Can't believe I missed Saturday's episode, I heard it was good. Missed the repeat last night as well, although I did catch the ending. Poor Donna.

No...that's not even a good idea at all.

I really enjoyed the episode, nice to see Dr. Who picked itself up after the little drag it had...if the second episode is anything like the first this will be a classic who tale.

Well she said another word for river is stream. Re-arrange the letters in stream and what do you get? Not forgetting the Master's ring was picked up by a woman.

Reasons why this idea can not work

A) How can he be Nice and kind to the Dr.
B) How can he never have met him before
C) How can he fall in love with him
D) regenerate as a woman
E) they don't plan to bring him back for a long time.

I hope the master does return...and the cybermen they were cool

i reckon the kid is River Song
there is a lot of refering to her as "sweetie" from the kids dad and its the one of the words River Song greeted the Doctor with -
"hello Sweetie"
i dunno where the pating of Rose and the Wolf on the wall come in though

i just think RS is a future companion
maybe his last and i reckon her book could be John Smiths diary
ive been doing some working out with what the official magazine has printed as a probable red herring regarding the episode after next and i think this is not a Doctor free episode but a Donna free episode
THEN we get Turn Left the supposed Doctor free episode
this is just a guess coupled with the very small tidbits DWM have announced but i think Donna is in an alternate universe with no memory of the Doctor after the events of last weeks episode and as stated on the front of DWM magazine Rose goes in search of her in this alt universe.

As for Midnight, yes, the vibe is Donna-lite, but really just because she is vacationing at the time. As I understand it, Turn Left is actually prefaced by Donna visting a fortune teller (whose reading then becomes the story of Turn Left), so I don;t think she has been removed from the story before then.

Though saying "another word for River is stream which is an anagram for Master" is really reaching. I don't think the Master would be brought back so quickly for starters.

No, absolutely no way at ALL was that intended to be the Rani. As he stated, absolutely clearly and without confusion, they didn't actually intend that to mean anything at all, it was just in case someone wanted to use it later.

On the other hand, RTD lies through his teeth, so that could be a double bluff.

But the Rani is unlikely as she's just not significant enough; it would be a meaningless thing.
