On the other hand, RTD lies through his teeth, so that could be a double bluff.

But the Rani is unlikely as she's just not significant enough; it would be a meaningless thing.

I doubt Steven Moffat will spend his time reusing old unimportant characters.

As for Midnight, yes, the vibe is Donna-lite, but really just because she is vacationing at the time. As I understand it, Turn Left is actually prefaced by Donna visting a fortune teller (whose reading then becomes the story of Turn Left), so I don;t think she has been removed from the story before then.

i heard this too but its a bit odd having two episodes featuring Donna -
a) having a new life in another reality without the doctor
b) an episode featuring what if she never met the doctor

i dont know what to make of these either
remember dont click if you dont want spoiling

Well we know what Caan is right? The last surviving Dalek.

Caan's only response was to initiate another Emergency Temporal Shift, escaping once more, although the Doctor remains convinced that he and Caan will meet again. This is the first time in the modern series that the Doctor knows that there is a surviving Dalek; Caan is the last surviving member of the Cult of Skaro, and supposedly the entire Dalek race, making him The Last Dalek in existence.

Sorry wrong place.

But they will never get rid of the Daleks, to bring them back in masses it would be a logical solution to revive Davros.

I wasn't supposed to post that here, but yeah you're right. A series without the Daleks would be good though. I mean surely no one would miss them for at least one series, would they?

I really would like a break from the Daleks, personally. Sure, they make good villains, but if they're soundly thwomped every season they're going to lose their edge of horror. Less "Oh my God, Daleks!", more "Oh... Daleks..."

Daleks are No. 1 but maybe a rest from them and a few more episodes with Cybermen.

I've never followed Doctor Who before this revamp of the series, so are there any other creatures/robots and so on that are as big as or as important as the Daleks from the past series? Do you prefer any over the Daleks?

No, the Daleks were the most prolific, but that also led to a lot of really, really awful stories about them.

The next most were the Cybermen... to which ditto. And they also haven't had a good new series story yet eirther. RTD clearly prefer Daleks, and the new series parallel cybermen were a bit poor, especially in their Dalek face-off.

It's a shame because, in their good stories, Cybermen were simply better.

The biggest problem with Daleks is that once you have established them they are extremnely boring villains as they are no good to talk to for long periods of time. Davros was never originally uinvented as King ot the Daleks, merely their creator, but he later became so because he gave the Daleks a mouthpiece the Doctor could bounce off of, as it were.

The Cybermen had their Cyberleaders for the same reason. As the same actor tended to play the Cyberleader in various stories, despite being killed off, this led to a theory that it was actually the same one each time, reincarnating in some way. At the time that played into the mythology where Daleks were Nazis (into racial purity) and Cybermen were Vampires (aiming to make others like them)- and you can never really killa Vampire.

So if there is one decent thing the new series Cybermen did, it was making this old fan theory a real thing, by having the Cyberleader download to a new body wehen destroyed.

Now they just need to make him interesting again, because with the new voices you can't have a long convo with them either.

I don't like the earth based Cybermen, seem to Dalek like for me.

Is it true some daleks tried to kill Davros?

I heard the Davros is comming back in the final episodes is that true ?
