- Horrible voice actors
- Horrible (and way too much) editing
- They changed all the character's names, which considering all the Mew Mew's names (except Ichigo and Zakuro) were already pronounced in English, REALLY was stupid.
4kids does this to EVERY anime they get their hands on. They edit it to hell, dumb it down for small children (never mind that most anime they dub IS for kids already), market the hell out of it, and refuse to release uncut, subtitled DVDs.
Not aired in the US, and since it's been licensed by 4kids, you'll never be able to see the original Tokyo Mew Mew unless somewhere down the road someone else gets their hands on the rights (like what happened with Sailormoon). I've seen it by downloading episodes or getting fansubbed VHS's. Plus I've read the Japanese version of the manga in Nakayoshi magazine.
