look, this is stupid. I'm not going to critisize TMM, Lana. Because u like the Japanese version, that's just good for u. I honestly don't CARE if u hate MMP, that's either ur victory, or ur problem.

As far as I have heard the dubbed MMP, vs. the original MMP are practically 2 completely different shows. whoop-dee-doo. We can solve this, we're smarter than this! y r we arguing over such a subjective subject? anime_mew and I, plus NE1 else who likes the dubbed show who's not here, like the dubbed version just the way it is.

Lana, look, srry. u can enjoy TMM, and we can enjoy MMP. Until the day I c the non-dubbed version, and do some serious comparing, I'm not suited to be the judge for myself, let alone anyone else. OK?

I actually saw a few episodes of "Mew Mew Power" first, and when I did a search on the show, I found out about Tokyo Mew Mew, and how much 4kids had changed it. So I bought a fansub on eBay, and am now the proud owner of episodes 1 thru 40 something.

Tokyo Mew Mew was also aimed at youngsters in Japan, not just teens. But a lot of older people watch it because it's just so cute!

From what I understand, 4Kids not only changed names and voices, but also ages. They made all the girls a bit older, and Akasaka and Shirogane (Wesley and Elliot) younger.

They edited the images, throwing together random clips in place of Ichigo's transformation, flipping a picture of a street backwards so the cars would be driving on the right side instead of the left, and edited crosses out of a church. They made cuts... because of time limitations, I suppose, but I don't see why they can't just have the commercial break in the middle of the show.

Mew Mew Power totally screws up the creator's original intentions with the show, not only with the message of environmentalism, but also with the artwork and animation.

Not to mention the annoying voices.

In closing, Zakuro could totally kick Renee's ass.

Yeah, it was made for kids and I'm 19 and I like it. So what? TMM is an adorable anime. It's got a good story, the characters rock, the art is well-done, and I love the costumes (yeah, I'm a cosplayer).

And being as the anime was based on the manga, the manga is very relevant here.

Like I said, I'm an elitist and a purist when it comes to anime. I know this, I admit this, and I know that not everyone else is. But if you're going to say shit, please at least do a little research and get your facts straight. Check out the link I posted a few pages back. Or download an episode of TMM or get a fansub tape. Then make the comparisons yourself.

Yep, they changed all their ages....I think they made all the Mews 16 or something around that age....which basically aged Pudding by 6 years....

And I really don't see why they felt the need to change the whole storyline. I mean, you'd think parents would like their kids watching a show where the main message was enviromentalism! Nor do I see the point of all the cuts....there are so many vital things that were cut for no reason. The transformations were ruined...and the cross thing is just stupid. They changed Zakuro's weapon because of that. Everytime something with kana or kanji was shown they removed the symbols....

I actually get rather annoyed with the obvious contempt 4kids shows for the intelligence of their fans.Theres the removel of all things that would clue you in that the show is actually Japanese first off ie Names Places food thats obviously a riceball being called a "Donut" It seems like the company is convinced that if their viewers find out theres a world outside America it will be some sort of disaster.Do they think everyone is too dumb to understand another counturies existence?Or are they afraid that knowledge might clue them in that the real version is out there away from their slimly grasp

Then the obvious "Stupiding" of te story again with litte faith in the brainpower of the viewers.A recent Yugioh i saw has a character whose family OBVIOUSLY dies in an accident at sea and he gets stranded on a desert island.Eventually after years pass he gets off but upon returning to civlization we get a story where "His family moved on and didnt care about him anymore" but are enever even shown.Like what?Who on earth is stupid enough to not understand what happened past the dubbing?How does that even make sense?What family would not care when a member turns out to be alive years after a disaster?Especally why later in the show he "Dies" and during that time his family appears before him and comforts him as he goes to join them.The question is WHY appear then when they are still alive and why are they ages he last saw them at?.

Seriously 4kids shows utter contempt for their viewers at all times and treats them like drolling idiots that would get lost in a paper bag.They litterally slap fans in the face give terribilly stupid hacked work and say "This is all you deserve and you will never get any better"

make a thread about TMM and talk about TMM there.If you already did that then go to it more often.We read your speech about how TMM is different from MMP a whole bunch of times.WE GET IT,so what else is new?and the fans are not stupid,they just dont know a thing about TMM.Even if they did,it still wouldn't make them stupid.

When I was 10 or so, I watched Pokemon, and I figured out that it was Japanese. With Mew Mew Power, it doesn't seem so obvious. I mean... They changed rice balls or something into sandwiches in one episode.

Pudding... That poor kid. She aged up, and lost her cute little girl voice. She doesn't even say "na no da" at the end of every sentence anymore.
