But it's not the pot itself that's causing the addiction - it's the person. Same as someone being addicted to the internet. Make them go without it for a while, and they'll whine and b!tch, but they're not going to go through withdrawals or anything. They'll be just fine without it.

What exactly is so bad about it? All studies done have shown that it is safer and less harmful than any other drug around, legal or illegal. Painkillers can be more harmful.
Mindship: It's also true. Unless someone is stupid enough to use it and then get to some point where their life is rocked by the effect of them being high. I believe this must only be in the hands of idiots because many famous musicians do copious amounts of pot on the road and still don't suffer as a result.

What exactly is so bad about it? All studies done have shown that it is safer and less harmful than any other drug around, legal or illegal. Painkillers can be more harmful.
The fact that you say it's "less harmful" acknowledges that you believe it is harmful also.

It's not physically harmful unless you take it in a way that will make it physically harmful. Smoking as an act, regardless of the substance, can cause harm. Even then it's a minute level of concern.
The drug itself is harmless and actually has positive properties. It's used medically in some places.
You never answered my question: Why is it bad to take it if it's harmless? Because it's illegal?

I said that SMOKING is bad whatever the substance. We're talking about the drug, which doesn't need to be smoked. When smoked it's still near enough harmless, ALONE and taken without smoking, it IS harmless. It even has positive properties.
So, why is it bad to DO? Again, if it's a harmless drug (fact), why is it bad to do? Because it's illegal?

I would say that marijuana is harmless, if it wasn't for the fact that the last time I smoked it, it alerted me to the existence of 'eye-worms' that seem to float in the direction you are looking, only that they are a fraction slower than the speed of your eye-balls. Anyone else oberserved these fascintating - and little understood - creatures the dwell in the amniotic fluid that can be found on the surface of our eyes?

You don't hear commercials because it's illegal. Actually, a cigarette company has a name copyrighted for a marijuana product when/if it's ever legalized so expect to see advertisements for it if it's ever legalized. I believe the name is Acopolco Gold. Or something.
There are plenty of people who use it and live perfectly structured, successful lives. Numerous artists, such as musicians, use it and get great ideas from the state of mind it can put you in.
Parents don't offer it to their children because it's illegal
