If you had the misconception that Marijuana was safe... then you deserve the repercussion.

Plain and simple.

If you enter a thread with an uninformed comment like that, then you deserve the repercussion also.

It is. There are negatives and bad sides, but for the most part, it is safe.

MovieJunkie, why is that whenever anybody presses you on why pot, or AC's 'shrooms, are dangerous, you always loop back to the prison arguement.

The logic that pot=prison and prison=beatings really doesn't prove anything.

Kharma - If you read through the thread, you'll see why AC is getting pissed off.

actually back in the day it was. This was originally when these sorts of things were considered to be like DRUGS. They actually had a lot of things like that then, and most of them came from indian culture. Keyote (sp?), weed, and a few other hallucinagenics were also more popular than the history books tell you.
It was originally made illegal through an agreement between tobacco farmers and politicans. Tobacco farmers were losing too much money over the fact that pot was more popular. And tobacco was one of the main staples of the south. The tobacco farmers apparently paid off politicans to rally against hemp/weed farmers, and make the drug illegal.

First of all its peyote not keyote, and that and acid are the only drug id mess with. People get them all wrong, most hallucinagens are not harmful to your physical health but can be to your mental health when using surtain amounts. Peyote active chemical (Mescaline). Is extremly intense and the problem with it is that people either take to much or are simply not prepared for it. But if you are aware of what you are doing then you should be able to use it legally. Pyschadellic drugs are not as bad as they appear. The reason you are lied to about them is because they have a decenagrating effect on the economy and society.

Weed became illegal not because it was out selling tabacco but because hemp was the obvious replacement for trees for paper, it would have stopped people cutting down millions of acres of woodlands, but the companys who make the paper and other industrys that hemp could have easily replaced paid off the government to show things like people going crazy because they smoked weed (easily tacking on hemp) and the "evil mexicans" bringing the "devils weed" into america and corupting the nation. the nation ban it and now a relativly safe drug is illegal

That's like saying tongue kisses lead to extreme bondage, definitely, just because they are both physical acts.

My Mother smokes "regular" cigarettes and it hasn't ended with her trying harder drugs, or in this case, a more or less harmless drug that has killed a staggering total of no people ever.
