Hmm, this is tough - there's elments I really like in both of your songs - what I'm going to try and do is mix and macth the bits I like and maybe add a few corrections here and there - what do you think?

Plus, I've noticed that the entries are more like chants, cheers or shouting poems rather then songs with flow... is that the angle we're going for?

Well - that's the problem lol, you both have some really good verses and Tassie I think each of your verses in your piece follow on really nicely so I'm going to see if I can somehow mesh them into some of Unicor's bits and add a few lines here or there to make it work better. It's going to be tough! 😖 but once I have a pattern I'll post it here and see what you all think 🙂

K, I've added an intro and a kind of darker tempting feel to set the background for the compilation of yours and Unicor's verses and chorus' - so here is my idea: Imagine the Pied Piper, the ringleader in Pinnochio or the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - you know that kind of skinny character with an evil or secretive glint in his eye who tells a story to little kids trying to get them to join or something - Jack Scarecrow is also good. () those brackets refer to actions and background info but only apply directly to one line afterwards (and are not part of the wong so dont' let that interrupt your flow when reading 😉 ) and words-written-like-this basically means you say one word directly after the other like they were seperate syllables rather then words - so anyway - he's the story teller (N for singing Narrator) and this is how it begins:

N:
Whether you be a wizard, or whether you be a witch
come to Hogwarts hither, where we catch the golden snitch
we're all welcome here, no lie nor snear
come try today, we'll see you play
(yells) or who you cheer in Quid-ittch!

(hushed voice and points at a little girl)
Come come my dear, come a little closer
to where the Sorting Hat can hear
For once you come, all-will-be-made-more-clear
And if you ask the Sorting Hat
For a little, small, o chat
You will see how smart it speaks with art
(yells and gestures) At where you belong in here!

(Children yell in unison: )
But what did the Sorting Hat say!?!?

(N with a sneaky grin: )
What did it say!?!? Why I'll tell you what it saaaid... (Big breath)

(singing again)

That's all I've got for now, I'm not sure if you'll like it or be able to hear the flow/rhythm in your head like I can but I'll wait and see what you both say 🙂 - if you like it now that the scene is set I want to alot more incorporate more of what you two had - whaddaya think?
