hey dean what u think of the 4-5-1 for England ?
it worked ok, but if your going to play a new system, make sure the players know how it works! beckham did well but i dont think the holding role is his position, lampard, gerrard and cole seemed off the pace and was below par.
the formation caused rooney to come very deep which is good if we are playing 2 upfront then at least owen would be up there waiting to poach, but cos of the new formation this caused the lack of width because the two wingers cole and phillips kept comin inside.
what left me scratching my head was the substitution in where defoe came on upfront on his own, proving sven hasnt got much of a clue what he is doing.
wales wasnt the best side in the world and even though they had giggs who was probably the best player on the pitch, they shoudnt of been able to cause the problems they did and if we was up against better opposition we would of been pulled apart. thankfully robinson was there to save us of an embarresment. and also thankfully owen will be back on wednesday which we then should see the return to the 4.4.2 formation.
i dont wanna see the 4-5-1 formation again cos i want owen and rooney to be paired up together.

good points. some of the players have said that they want to keep the 4,5,1 formation though. Although i think they were all midfielders who want to play lol. personally i would not play Beckham if i was playing 4,5,1 i would play Scott Parker who has played very well for Newcastle this season in that position.
