I think you should re-read my post, I mentioned that he didnt score because of the vast amount of opportunities he recieved (FACT). I dont bash a player because he didnt score, I bash a player who doesnt do anything when the opportunity arrives. Look at Christian Vieri, hes on the National team for nothing, wasting roster space. Wasnt Crouch sold because he didnt score any goals, and this happened twice. He was on 2 different teams and did nothing for them. It doesn't give you it but it sure as hell stopped them from quite likely going home. They scraped by all their games. They didn't perform anywhere near the best in that tournament and THAT is why tournaments are easy for good teams to get screwed, because you don't have to continually maintain a good consistency. You only have to win the one game by hook or crook and you're through. They beat Milan on penalties, they didn't thrash them in the game and yeah, they came back. Sure. But that was because Milan threw the game away. They played EXTREMELY shit second half, first half Liverpool didn't play shit. AC Milan just played better.
