im not syaing he will. im saying if he has done it before, he can do it again. and of course he got the goals because southampton played the ball to him, how else are strikers like crouch and michael owen going to score? do you expect him to score from 50 yards or dribble the ball past people? i'll say it for the last time, he is NOT that sort of player. You gotta understand that.

They're poachers, yes. Saying someone is a good poacher is like saying someone's a good murderer.

how was they lucky? lol. not lucky at all. im amazed you have said that. its a team game, if they are just gonna rely on riquelme then they are in trouble. they have good enough players to see out the game. england would of scored, regardless of whether or not riquelme was on the pitch.

If you'll drop the Mystic Deano schtick for a sec, you can't exactly say they would have. Because they've lost to Northern Ireland before. If them scoring was so certain, they'd be winning a lot more games.

no im positive, no arguments. bridge was about as fit and sharp as paul gascoigne is at the moment. if he was sharp and up to match speed, then the opposing player woudnt of gotten past him, let alone get past cole. just baffles me to as why sven played him.

Because Sven is the shittest manager ever, to be blunt.

Second, you can be positive all you want. Doesn't mean it wouldn't have happened. People have beat Cole before, the can do so again.

it is pointless. you are saying england would not of scored if riquelme was on the pitch. which is ridiculous since they scored earlier on when he was playing, plus struck the post. but since you blame that for argentina's loss, i'll say this again. First argentina goal wouldnt of happened if cole was playing, 2nd goal wouldnt have happened if the ref gave the right decision. dont say i cant be sure of that when you are saying you are sure that england wouldnt of won if riquelme stayed on the pitch, you cannot be sure of that either.

Not only because they removed Riquelme but because they had a goal lead. Which meant not only did England have to score to draw, but score two to win. At this point it wasn't looking likely so they chilled out. Their own fault? Yes, I'm not blaming England for Argentina's lapse. I'm saying that if they kept playing as they were, England probably wouldn't have got the two injury time goals. I can't say anything for sure, just what I think is likely.

argentina are a great team and they will most probably always keep the ball better than england. doesnt mean they are a better side, its what you do with the ball that counts. and england created as many chances as argentina did that day.

Creating chances and taking them are two different things.

Yeah our defense has fallen by the wayside recently. I like the pairing of Dawson and King though, King is always dependable and Dawson has been a nice surprise this season. Both Stalteri and Lee love to get forward which has its advantages and as is becoming apparent its disadvantages also.
Defoe sometimes frustrates me with his attitude. When he has service and gets the ball he is happy, but when he doesnt he losses interest in the game and doesnt go looking for work. Mido does his share of defending and i like the way he puts himself about up front. Even if he doesnt win the header he still makes sure the defender knows his around (like Ferguson in a way).
What i like most about this Spurs team is the way they work for each other and seem to really enjoy playing together, i dont know how much of that comes from winning but its still great to see as a fan.
Any idea when Routledge is back from injury?

Routledge is back... he's fit but not in the squad at the moment.
Defoe doesn't work for shit... but luckily Davids has had a word with Kuyt and Kuyt has said he wants to play in the premiership, preferably for Spurs. Can't hurt to have the top scorer in the Dutch league playing for you.

did you hear Davids and Keane had a punchup in training the day before the sunderland match?

No i missed that story! Keane strikes me as the sort of man who would sucker punch when your back is turned or pull your shirt over your head and then lay into you. Davids is a fiery competitor, i wouldnt want to take him on. They must have sorted it out before gameday because they played together really well.
Hopefully we can land Kuyt, nothing like a bit of competition to make you play harder.

Owen actually outjumped him for the goal, despite the foot deficit in height.

The man almost won a penalty last week for being so dramatically oversized that he tripped himself over a defender's leg.

owen didnt outjump him, he was in front of crouch, therefore he got to the ball first. 🙂

what him being oversized got to do with being tripped up? if you are running and someone sticks a leg out, then you fall over 90% of the time, regardless of size

Yes. A midget jumped and received the ball before the 6 plus foot beanpole.

Aka, outjumped him.

Bit like saying "Henry didn't outpace him. He just ran faster and got to the ball quicker."

Owen got in front of him by jumping. Crouch got turfed aside like a moron.

What has him being oversized got to do with being tripped up? Are you truly that slow? Someone didn't 'stick a leg out', Crouch's leg trailed so far behind him that he had no proper control over his body and couldn't avoid the defender, thereby missing an open goal.

crouch's head still above owen. owen was in front of crouch, thats why he got there. if the ball went any higher it would of landed on crouches head, which he probably would of missed.

would owen have got there if he was behind crouch? no.
the way the ball was put int he box, it was the case of whoeva was closest.

No, Owen outjumped Crouch, why are we even in denial of this?

Crouch is better playing the ball with his feet than with his head anyway. I don't think i have ever seen him score or even come close with a header.

if you look at the footage, crouch could hardly jump because he was being shoved into the back of owen by walter samuel. Also Samuel was holding onto crouches shoulder. that is why he coudnt jump further.
