Maybe they are think of getting rid of one of their other midfielders, i like Murphy in a central midfield role with Carrick. Hopefully they will move Jenas out to the right where he can use his pace.

Reina didnt have a chance to hold him by the neck as soon as he made minimal contact Robben went down like a sack of shit. The play acting and theatrics are the main reason i dont watch as much football as i used to.

Don't get why Spurs signed another mid to be honest.

we sold Davis, Mendes and Brown, Routledge is on loan, Huddlestone just got back from loan and is only 19.

but i do however agree with you in some respects... Tainio, Carrick, Jenas and Davids could walk in to a very decent proportion of premiership squads with Lennon and Huddlestone being massive prospects for the future, both being 18. i can understand the reasoning behind buying Murphy... he is a brilliant killer-ball player, and will split defences for Defoe or Keane... however i can only guess that the purchase of the Egyptian guy would be a replacement for Edgar Davids when he retires either next year or the year after.

we have 9 first team quality midfielders atm, so i cant see us suffering a newcastle style 'injury crisis'

What do you guys (especially Spurs fans) think about the Danny Murphy signing?

I think Murphy is no more than average; he can run a bit, pass a bit, shoot a bit and bit a bit. Considering the way the midfield has been playing, I think he'll be little more than a second-half sub/squad player. Hopefully.

We should have tried harder to get another striker like Vieri. Rasiak looks like a complete ee-aw.

In the summer, if we qualify for the Champions League, we should try to sign Kuyt, Ribery and a right-back.

i agree with Kuyt and Ribery (aka the elephant man) but i dont see why we need a right back... we have Stalteri who's playing well and Stephen Kelly who's always been underrated imo.

and we have Lee and Zeigler at left, so we're covered for full backs.

Also, Murphy is alot more than average, he plays great killer passes, he's not as alround talented as say Jenas or Tainio, but he's perfect for filling the gap between midfield and attack

murphy was charltons best player last season. great squad signing for spurs

agreed.

Stalteri is a decent player, but, looking at the back-four, he's the weakest link. I think we'd be better off getting someone like Glen Johnson in. He's been a little inconsistent at Chelsea, but I think with a good run of games, he'd show he's a great player in the making.

I find Murphy so boring.

I find myself in disagreement here Murphy IMO isn't boring, he has been consistently a good team player for the last few season's. His goal scoring from midfield is quite good. His range of passing is excellent, and he has the ability to make a goal for one of the forwards out of nothing. I still think Spurs made a good move signing him.

i dont understand this... Stalteri has been great imo, if anything it's Lee who's been the weak link in the defence, seeing as he isnt very dfensive at all, Stalteri supports Lennon/Jenas well and tracks back well too, i cant see how anyone can complain with his performances.

Murphy is just what tottenham needed, a decent final pass maker

As I stated in my original post, Stalteri has been fine, but he's the one defensive area that we could improve on. Young-pyo Lee has been very good.

I still find Murphy to be a dull player. He'll be fine as a squad player, but he's not going to push Davids, Jenas, Lennon, Tainio or Carrick out of the team. Why? Davids is a world-class player, Jenas and Carrick are young, but they're beginning to realise their awesome potential, Lennon has the ability to become a great player on the world stage, and Tainio has a good level of consistency and the ability to link the play very well. Apart from Davids, Murphy is older than all of them, but offers nothing comparable to the class that Davids brings to the team. Therefore, I don't see the point in delaying the development of some truly promising players for the sake of playing Murphy who is pushing close to 30 and has never been anything more than OK.

Random Roberto Carlos video:

Roberto Carlos' Top 10 Goals!

That goal against Holland is ridiculous enough, but those top 2! What a freaking freak!

I can't believe Boro beat Chelsea....

The team that lost 4 - 0 to Villa beat Chelsea... that shocked me.

😂

and that Sir Alex Ferguson 😛

Arsenal looks really poor last night against liverpool. If they play like that against Real Madrid then they can expect a hammering IMO.

they are a young team. they need some top class experience

Yes they do. To bad Henry won't be there next season IMO. And I think Cole will go to.

i hope this is the collapse of Arsenal, i sincerly do...

they definately don't deserve a top4 finish this season

Club Brugge - AS Roma (0-1)

Club dominated the entire first half, a few chances -nothing major- the damn romans played with 10 guys -sometimes 11- all the time. After 25 minutes the first roman got a red card. Still the romans didn't do dick. not one shot on target -only two shots in the entire half- Yet for some reason the damn romans are leading by 1.

A stupid assist from the right flank that flies over montela's head and catapults of the head of our left back to land in goal, leaving the goaly chanceless. How STUPID IS THAT FFS!
