I think that there should be a fixed number of Brits in the squad not the team. If you say there has to be 5 Brits in your squad of 23 or whatever it is then that isn't hard. But if you tell managers they have to put Brits in the starting line up that could be bad for the game. Look at some of the best premiership players ever.... Zola, Cantona were not Brits.. Even now Henry is one of the top players in England if you were to say you can't have players like them because they are not Brits that would spoil the game IMO.

i am saying it as a negative, it's a shame imo that arsenal dont have enough english squad players to fill one hand.
some leagues have a limit on the amount of non-eu players, or foreign players in the squad... now i know the latter one is a bit much, but i do think that all premiership squads should have a minimum requirement of English players.... maybe 3 or 4.
What possible good is having an entire team composed of foreign players going to do for the english game in the long run? in 20-30 years time english talent will be sparse etc etc, you get the point i think.
and was a bit over the top saying take players from the conference... i think Wigan and West Ham have proved there's some match-winning quality in the Championship...
Wenger said that because he doesnt need to worry about the future of English football.

yea theyre great players, but why cant there be English players in the team as well... seeing as how its an english league...
think it was Pardew who said it... how he respects mourinho for having a solid english backbone in the team, and how if he was a manager in Portugal he would actively seek to have a strong portugese influence in the team... seeing as how its a portugese league... it makes sense, and makes the league more soulful and passionate.
imo every team should have atleast 2 english players in their starting eleven.

yea but having 3 english players in the whole squad is still pretty pathetic... (im guessing its 3, im not big on the entire arsenal squad).
having a minimum requirement of 2 english players in the starting 11 will encourage the growth of national talent, and encourage teams to buy more english players... it's only a good thing.

Barcelona have a nice selection of Spanish players.
Milan have alot of Italian players
Bayern have German players
Lyon have French players
and they're all doing well, why can't english teams do well with some english players?
