it woudnt surprise me if arsenal lost. if wenger stops buying kids for once and buys the sort of players who can defend and put it about a bit, then they would be top of the league. he invests too much on youngsters

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. They're just going through a bit of a shit patch, by their own standards. I was thinking about it today, it's funny how every week the title race is over, then the next week it's definitely over, then definitely, definitely, then back on about...March, then definitely over again a week later. If Arsenal had beaten Bolton and Fulham, and won the game in hand, they wouldn't be far off Chelsea. It only takes one team to have a bad week and the other a good week, and a big change can occur. Having said that, I don't think Arsenal will win it- I just think the whole title race announcements every week scenario gets a bit tedious.

I certainly think Arsenal need another Vieira, though. Essien would have been perfect.

to win the league u need to have the players to battle, arsenal lost that when they got rid of vieria.

they are too one dimensional. teams will frustrate them more often. and moving to a new stadium as threw them off balance.

maybe next year for arsenal.

Only in the Premier League though- it's fine in the CL.

Who is out there, anyway, in the Vieira mould?

in the prem, teams are more than happy to draw against arsenal. in the CL, teams have to attack really.

theres few players outside england that would be good for arsenal.

They don't really need a holding guy though, they need one to go to war like Vieira was known to do. Hargreaves would be good but it's unlikely.

i think gattuso is a bigger battler than vieira. he would be great for arsenal.
