He wasn't.

Great result for Man U though in the circumstances.. Take them back to Old Trafford now and win by a few goals.

The violence at half time was horrible.. the police there are a disgrace.. I'm not saying Man Utd fans were completely innocent but the police totally over-reacted.. and why the hell was there only police on the Man Utd side.. ? Roma fans were getting away with everything and it was those who started the trouble.

This Roma/United clash really just takes the cake for me. Although it's not as bad as other stuff that's happened, it was quite ridiculous.

What a bunch of total, utter losers these extreme football fans are.

To those people out there who are the kind of supporters that do this junk, I just gotta say..."get a life"!

Deep down these people are just little kids who haven't grown up yet and with nothing better to do than have their time and energy spent sticking it to people who just don't like the same team they do.

Wow! What a freakin accomplishment you've made in life, and what a grand contribution to society!

It's a freakin' game!! Grow up!

I like United, but if you're gonna b**** after about unwarranted police retaliation or whatever (which is questionable), then grab a brain and don't go you fools.

Children...really.

You called them football fans, that's not what they are. They're fighting fans who do so via football as an excuse.

Let's not do them the credit of analysing what they are deep down, let's just interpret them at face value; C*nts.

Where do UEFA find these referee's?

'i gave the penalty for the second contact, he took the ball then the player'

err, yea... that's called a good challenge mate. especially when its the keeper making the challenge.

to expand on my previous post... lets have a look at some of his decision through the game:

- Robinson wins the ball, penalty.
- Ball hits the corner flag and goes out for a corner... so he decides its a drop ball, and Sevilla kick it for a throw-in.
- Berbatov jumps between two players who both climb all over him (one backs in and the other jumps over him)... foul to Sevilla Oo.

The penalty was outrageous. There were long periods in both halves when the referee literally gave every decision to Sevilla, it was amazing. That guy who did the little ''shot in the back'' salmon leap right infront of the linesman about 5 minutes after Ghaly slightly nudged him, should be banned from the sport.

Anyway, with Ghaly hopefully playing from the beginning and (hopefully) Ledley back, plus the away goal, I think Spurs will progress.

That pen was a joke.. didn't see all the game but I saw that and when the ref gave the penalty I couldn't believe it.. he just bottled it.. Guarantee he wouldn't have gave it at White Hart Lane.

Its going to be hard for Spurs to qualify now though.. I think they will win at home.. but it will be hard to stop Sevilla scoring.

...what?

Did you mistype Berbatov?

haha... Berba is definately our key man atm... but Ghaly > Tainio whichever way you cut it.

Ghaly isn't amazing, but he's solid in the centre, can score a goal ocassionally and works his socks off... Tainio is just awful, he plays 5 games, is shit for 4 of them, then gets injured.

He (Tainio) is clumsy and I don't trust him to keep his cool. I was certain he was gonna get sent off at some point yesterday.

with that ref he coulda been sent off at any second... all the crowd had to do was shout 'foul!!' and it wouldnt matter if a challenge was made or not.

scholes is an idiot. thats my 2 cents for the day

He was indeed.. at least he still only gets a 1 match ban.

Well, Ghaly is better than Tainio. Both aren't particularly decent though.

Spurs have too much mediocrity to think about moving to the next level as of yet, and I think it is largely down to Jol's buying decisions.

Berbatov being the notable exception.

Problem is we play Ghaly as a right midfielder... he's a defensive midfielder... Ghaly is a good player, i would say he's slightly above mediocrity, he's a decent premiership squad player.

Thing is, he shouldn't be buying squad players. A lot of the current first teamers are squad players.

Of all people...David James could've just very well put an end to Man U's championship season...

...or would that be Rio?

What a finale!
