You can't exactly expect the top flight clubs to risk consistent top flight success just so people will say "Yeah, they're supporting Englishmen.". Hardly worth it.Foreign players have to prove their worth just like any other player, but it so happens there are better foreign players than English. The very best English players in the world still don't rank up anywhere near the best from certain other countries.

The English academy system isnt as good as foreign equivalents though... and look at other leagues, most have limits on foreign purchases and foreign players in their squads...
The Premiership is the only one i can think of that doesnt have any sort of limits imposed.
Sure it makes for a great league, but you can't say that it doesn't have a negative effect on the international team... i know you couldnt give a shit because you support Brazil (...) but i would prefer English players had better oppurtunities for top flight football.

It wouldn't actually make a difference to the team. For all of Brazil's greats, they had a mediocre World Cup because the team didn't work all that well together.
England don't work well cos they're a shit team. Even when Rooney was at his overhyped best, they were a shit team. Having amazing English players doesn't guarantee an amazing English team.
That said, there aren't as many coming through HERE because there aren't as many that are interested. People today prefer to sit on the couch and say what they'd do better rather than actually doing it, or those that do aren't that good anyway.
Deep down, I think people just don't give a shit about playing for England.

I just feel that, regardless of the impact it would have on the national team (which i feel it would have), England needs a strong academy system, the premiership shouldn't have to rely on West Ham, Middlesborough and Liverpool for English players.
Also, the EPL should implement some minor squad restrictions, like the ones i already mentioned.

I agree.. Scotland have a fantastic academy system.. And even Wales have lots of good young players coming through.
