Hmmm... I remember Maradona's being voted the greatest goal ever, so does this make Messi's a top 10er at least?

In a situation like this, where both goals are almost identical, I think it's important to consider the quality of the opposition: Maradona scored his against England, Messi scored his against Getafe.

Messi wins.

I compared the two and Maradonna is moving faster from what I could tell, and he was keeping the ball under tighter control.

Maradonna's initial turnaround which started it off was sheer genius.

And he also did that slowing down/speeding up thing he does where he fools people with his pace and just blows by them without having to deke a lot.
