Perhaps because he looks, and often acts, like a fat thug.

😆

He looks a lot thinner as apposed to a few years back imo, and is faster because of it. Still looks an acts like thug though.

And all this "he hasn´t scored in x years" is silly, Football is a team game and Rooney does well in getting the ball and assists, in his "lets run around like a lunatic behind the strikers " role. He´s not a classical center forward, more like an offensive midfielder.

Did anyone see Ribery´s goal & assist for Bayern Munich yesterday, that man is becoming something special. (sorry about the annoying commentator)

nice goal,

Rooney and Tevez? yeah good partnership, what is it about 7 games played together? yeah lets jump on the criticism bandwagon so early.

I enjoyed watching the Villa Man Utd game, rounded off a fine saturday evening. Shame Villa didnt hang on to their lead but Man Utd found Villa's weakness and thats how the won it.

Currently half time at Inverness Tulloch Stadium, the mighty Aberdeen are up 1-0 and seem to be cruising, except Caley did have a spell of attacking in the last 5minutes.

So is calling him the new Pele, saying you cannot stop him from scoring, and acting like the man is a match for Lionel Messi.

None of those are true, him having a three year international goal drought was true.

so does john terry but i dont see people attacking him all the time.

They do. Even more so of late, now more than a few have noticed his glaring deficiencies.

They are just making excuses. These are experienced footballers who have played on all sorts of surfaces. The new artificial pitches are not as bad as they are made out to be, they are no longer the "running track" bouncy rubber like they used to be. This grass on the Russia pitch is long with little rubber round bits below, Ive seen and even played on this sort of new pitch and its no problem at all. Ok the ball goes faster than normal if its wet which is good for long distance shots apart from that no problem.

Englands main problem was the "long ball to Owen" tactic. Owen is one of the smallest players need I say more.

The way I see is that the both teams play on the same surface for that game.

I would say about 3/4 of the American football stadiums have artificial grass and the only that changes the game is what type of cleats the players wear.

Your right he´s not in the same league as Messi, C. Ronaldo etc and how anyone can dream of comparing him to Pele is amazing. The Technical ability is missing in a big way.

Although this comparing ancient players with todays is also inaccurate. If you got the Pele from the past and played him today he´d not be as successful unless of course he got the same input. The players are fitter, strategically more aware and simply better than the amateur days of when Pele was playing. Although his technical ability, dynamic action is still breathtaking to watch.

i agree with you completely, he is owerated, he is good, but don't think he is one of the best strikers in the world.

Reminder: Spurs are better than Arsenal now.

Was that sarcasm or did you really mean that?

Arsenal 7 - 0 Slavia Prague

what a pasting, and Walcott scored a couple of goals as well why isn´t he playing for England, he´s like a Henry clone the way he plays🙂? I´m not an Arsenal fan but credit where credits due, they are playing exceptionally well at the moment, and as long as thy don´t bottle it against strategic playing teams they could do really well this season on many fronts.

I believe he was poking fun at the common opinion pre-season.

What do you mean strategic playing teams?

Last night was a lesson in strategy, a lesson in football overall. Slavia Prague it may have been, but it's getting to the point now where people are starting to feel stupid about underestimating Arsenal, but never feel dumb about overestimating Liverpool.

You're not gonna last much longer here. I take it you're cut up about Celtic getting beat 1-0 while the Gers drew with great Barcelona?

I compared his playing style to Henry, from who he probably learned a lot. At least these dark folk can play unlike the Jocks, mind you what do you expect from the offspring off lost drunken Irish fishermen.

I mean "decent" strategic playing teams like AC Milan. So often Ive seen teams on a run, hammering other teams then suddenly they meet their nemesis and loose 1:0. Teams which shut down their opponents strengths and play to their own.

Liverpool arn´out yet bye the way🙂

Funny the way the Arsenal fans sung " are you Tottenham in disguise"

liverpool are out, they're not going to win all three of their champions league games. they're probably going to lose to arsenal this weekend as well which will effectively end their title hopes. theres too much tension in their play, theres no rhythm to it at all.

i remember liverpool was in this situation before. and they ended up winning it. can lightning strike twice? yes. but it wont
