I know more than you think🙂

Arsenal are playing amazing football at the moment, not only brilliant to watch but effective, a rare combination.

For that alone I hope they do well this year and win a few trophy's.

Liverpool haven't won the thing since '92, before it was the Premier League. Not sure why they are continually given a shot at being winners. Maybe "Yeah, they'll stay top four.", but let's not keep suggesting they'll win the league.

You are bang on the money there dude, its always a case of at the start of the season it'll be down to liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and Man Utd but its usually the case that Man Utd SHOULD be favourites..

...top 4 is nothing special nowadays, there is a very large ploints difference between 1st place and 4th place.

Teams such as Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea have the bottle to keep consistent results going but Liverpool for me are a team which are not champions material. They can't seem to keep results going and after watching the Rovers game I am determinded Liverpool wil find it hard to clinch 4th place.

But Liverpool have finished above Arsenal for the last 2 seasons... Why suddenly are people considering Liverpool below Arsenal? Sure, this season they have been underperforming so to speak, but for the last 2 seasons they were better than Arsenal in league and Europe.

So? They finished above Arsenal for two seasons, one of which was undeniably transitional and the other was frought with injuries. Arsenal are a much better team now, that's why people SHOULD be considering them, not Liverpool, who haven't won the league since before it was the Premiership.

Liverpool won the CL by sheer jam and an ill decision. They didn't convincingly win any of those matches bar the final, which AC Milan threw away.

Haha I'd argue like that if it was a Spurs topic... but we all know in football results are results, in professional sport its very hard to actually put anything down to pure luck. When Arsenal finish above Liverpool 2 seasons in a row, i'll say Arsenal are better, but you cant make assessments 1/3 of the way into a season, Liverpool arent exactly down and out, and Arsenal arent exactly running away with the league.

Theyre both good teams, but all you can effectively go on atm is recent history, and Liverpool win that hands down.

i dont think arsenal or liverpool will win the title. liverpool have never been consistent, arsenal are too young and will possibly bottle it. i see man utd or chelsea sneaking the win. it will be close though.

Results don't actually prove anything besides "We won.". It may be what matters, but it doesn't prove who is the better team overall.

Look at the stats for the Arsenal/Liverpool game. Every single stat aside from the final score, was in Arsenal's favour. Possession, attempts, passing. Andy Gray couldn't even deny it. The only decent chance they had was the free kick, and that was because Flamini moved out of the way.

That and the fact that Carragher keeps getting away with fouling in the box. Not even just to Arsenal.

Results are what matters if you wanna count wins, they do not show who is necessarily the better team, though. Italy won the World Cup, they weren't the best team in the tournament.

Liverpool are never playing amazing football. They may have got enough wins to finish above Arsenal for a monumental two seasons, but my point is, it's a bit stupid to keep insisting they'll win the league or contend. Why? They haven't done so for over a decade, they remain contenders. Arsenal have won in multiple times since, once they were even undefeated.

Or we can look at last season where Arsenal whooped them shamelessly on their own ground, then again, and then again. At least I think it was three games, maybe two.

Arsenal got to the CL final the year before last.

Last season they were only fourth on goal difference, and these were the two transitional seasons (Cf.- Spurs' only chance).

liverpool and arsenal are both great teams on there day.

i think liverpool would be better overall if rafa stopped tinkering.

Time to start worrying world of football🙂

i dont think so. not yet at least. if they can play like that consistantly in the prem, they have achance to win. but its a big IF

Exactly. They can't beat Blackburn, couldn't beat Arsenal (Should have lost, really), didn't beat Arsenal last season.

Nobody said that about Arsenal, and they were doubted much more than Liverpool.

It's because you're not "allowed" to dare say Arsenal have a chance. You have to be on your knees with your mouth open, in front of Steven Gerrard.

Saying Liverpool are to be feared is just like preaching the end of the world.

People keep saying it and sooner or later people will stop taking it seriously, cos it never happens.

Haha.

The only notable thing about that was that Liverpool are so shit, they lost to a team that Liverpool can beat 8-0.

That actually points to Liverpools problem, they can do well and beat good teams. Then the next day loose to some struggler.

A very random and steep form curve.

Or to put it in simple terms they lack consistancy.

But who knows, maybe they´ll go on a stuffing spree🙂

If people consistently said "They'll be top four.", then fine.

They don't, though. As VVD said the other day, despite not winning it since '90, if they won it this year, everyone would go "See? Told you.".

alpha, if i supported a football team, and we had to play liverpool or man utd or arsenal, and that team had played 4 games and say, scored 15 goals in ust those games, i still wouldnt fear them. heck i wouldnt fear them if they'd done it all season, simply because any team on any day can beat anyone.

I don´t "fear" any team, but relish the spectacle.

In fact Im more worried when they play a small team, like in the FA cup. Thats what makes football so interesting though, its 11 v 11 & upsets are possible.

yeah cups are always fun to watch especially as a neutral like myself.

I actually agree there.

Always seems like teams may upset at that level, despite being shit.
