You got your wish AC.

The lesson to be learned is, for everyone;

Please don't come here at the end of the season and say how Liverpool are able to win the league, please. Not again.

-AC

i couldnt care less about liverpools league position, i just dont want to see rafa get fired. although i do think hes a shitty manager right now, so were ferguson and wenger in the first few years, at least results wise.

Yeah, but Liverpool not being potential winners has nothing to do with Rafa. If anything he has got them closer than ever, they just don't ever have the players to do it.

Poor old Benitez.

He took them to the Champions League, but with the position they're in (and with disagreements with the new American owners already), he might end up another victim of the knee-jerk manager sackings that have been going on lately; I'd really hate to see him go, the Premiership has already lost two class acts in Jose and Allardyce.

its got a little bit to do with it i think. he has got them closer for sure, but theres a few questionable decisions hes made that you could argue have really hurt their season.

how would you guys rank the best 5 players in the world based on performances this season?

...Ferguson was.

Wenger did alright in his second season (The Double).

Sticking to the Premiership and from what I saw, probably Berbatov, Van Persie when he was healthy, Ronaldo even though he's get every bandwagon fan screaming how he's the best they've ever seen, I personally liked watching Drogba play, and in my Arsenal fanboyism, Adebayor.

Berbatov's been nothing special. Let's not revise Spurs' season. Keane has been more impressive.

It's hard to say really. Lots of Arsenal and Man Utd candidates. Young and Agbonlahor, Laursen definitely.

Lescott, Torres (marginally), Jones has been great for Sunderland, but he's not as fashionable as Torres. Santa Cruz.

From other leagues, Zlatan, Messi, Fabiano, Pato since he's been allowed to play.

It's not fanboyism to say Adebayor- he's a few goals behind The Greatest Player Ever (Tm).

Apparently a three goal difference is monumental.

(Ignore the 5 between Ade and Torres, it only works between first and second top scorer).

I can't really say. I only really saw maybe two Spurs game, and Berbatov was pretty good.

I'm just used to getting booed for saying Adebayor. For some reason no one I've talked to respects him or even has heard about him. Probably need to talk to different people.

In football, fans tend to support or deny who they current climate is hyping.

England wanted Cristiano Ronaldo hung when Wayne Rooney got sent off in the England Vs Portugal game, but that has since changed, because despite the "Country before club" mentality people would have you believe, they subconsciously know that's bs.

I can almost guarantee that if I asked a hardened club fan what they'd prefer, it would usually be their club.

I reckon Liverpool will win the league next season, being on a roll after winning the champions league for the 6th time.🙂

They didn't win the league when they won it last time, or after, or before.

Also, they have to get by Inter Milan.

top 5:
Ibrahimovich
Messi
Ronaldo
Casillas (controversial choice)
Adebayor/Petrov

i just read an interesting article about arsene wenger. he gives his take on messi and ronaldo and the difference between them.

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/08/02/01/SOCCER_Arsenal_Nightlead.html&TEAMHD=soccer

if anybody wants to read it.

i wonder how much of a different player ronaldo would have been under wenger, or if he would have been successful at all.

19 in all competitions. He hasn't scored in the CL but he hasn't always played.

Rio and Terry both called him their toughest opponent last season.

Flamini has been unbelievable this year. Literally beyond all expectations. I read on another forum, in a Man Utd thread, somebody saying 'I thought Flamini was shit?'.

Other than what it says about some Man Utd fans, it says a lot about how unheralded and stratospheric his rise has been.

Decent article, too.

Good first half from Spurs, Hargreaves has been awful, he's as bad at tackling as Scholes, but he does it more often.

Man U got too lucky.
