lol, this is great. Now when we (madrid) win the league, Barcelona will go titleless this season despite beating us both in both of the classicos.

The norm these past 5 years has been "English team in the final".

It broke from the norm the minute Bayern pissed all over United's efforts.

I knew Morinho´s bunch would do a job on Barca, they (Barca) have serious problems against well organised defensive teams.

The final will be interesting, I think Bayern might take it they look the hungrier team

I hope Madrid´s circus of stars won´t win the league, I like Barca´s football philosophy and the way they play.

Fullham V Hamburg could be interesting tonight, HSV got stuffed 5:1 on the weekend and they sacked their coach, so a breath of new air and the thought of playing the final at home might inspire them.

Can see Liverpool stuffing Athletico if they are on an up in their yo yo faze.

A well deserved win by Inter. They were easily the better side over the 2 legs. They simply showed that a good strategy is worth more than Messi and co.

I'd like to see Inter win it now. I've really grown to like them over the tournament. They've showed good stones and proved that they want it more than any other side.

After Chelsea and Barca beating Bayern should be very doable.

lol, well just have to wait and see.

Liverpool took an extremely hard loss last night against Athletico for the Europa. You can't tell how saddened I was when they scored that late goal against us, I feel rather disappointed with the performance of the Reds this year but I'm still looking optimistic for next time around, maybe things will be different. We all sort of watched the ball go into the net and stood there in collective silence, heads shaking haha.

But on a different, yet related topic I want to bring up how much I HATE the away goal rule. It's silly, giving a free goal just because the club is away from home? I don't personally care where the hell on the planet you are, football is football. Yeah I understand the atmosphere is going to be different (in someone elses favour or anothers) but they are professional footballers, they should learn to tone such things out. You don't see away goals occuring in League matches now do you?

What do you lot think? I think it's a load of nonsense, Liverpool could have taken that match to penalties and may have come out as a winner, but I'm not only frustrated with the rule because of this particular match, I dislike the rule as a whole.

The away goal rule is one of those love/hate things. You love it when your side benefits from it but hate it when they don't. I don't think the sport would really lose anything by doing away with it but at the same time it can make for interesting football at times.

As sad as Liverpool's exit may be Fulham's more than makes up for it (as a neutral). It would just be brilliant for the side to win the entire tournament now.

IS BENITEZ out yet?

Bic, I think he said he's staying. I heard wind of him moving to Juventus or Atletico, I can't confirm any of this mind ye just pub banter.

As for Fulham, good on them, I was very impressed with their match agaisnt Hamburg and we can only hope they beat those Madrid bastards!

Benitez is buying the wrong players imo.

Bayern Munich are German champions again, and heading for the triple. Ie Champions league and the DFB Pokal (german fa cup).

Who thinks they can do it?

Chelsea heading for title.

Gonna take a miracle now if Man United are gonna win the title.
Chelsea leading 2:0 and Wigan a man down.

No cup this year Alex🙂

Can anyone confirm if this story is true?

Apparently some Croatian football player died of a heart attack mid game and wsa given a yellow card for it. Marked for diving, (dying).

Going by the numerous hits on Google the story apears to be true, maybe the referee didn´t know he was dead when he fell over and maybe carded him for falling with contact or something.

can´t see dieing being a against the FIFA rules.

Pretty sad event none the less

Yeah, that's rather odd. I just think it's amazing how a 34 year old in great physical shape dies of a heart attack. Makes you wonder sometimes...

Rather awkward for the match though. Something similar happened to a Benfica player awhile back, he wasn't carded for it but he died mid-match. Blows my mind how these physically fit players die from heart attacks.

Fantastic second leg of the Blackpool/Forest game. Blackpool were brilliant, a throughly deserved win. Would be cool to see a club the size of Blackpool get in the Premiership.

Funny thing is that contractually Blackpool's manager won't get a bonus if they are promoted... As his contract states that he will get a bonus if Blackpool remain in the Championship (aka not get relegated)

I noticed there´s quite a few "star" players not being picked for the world cup.

Pato being the big suprise for me.

Then there´s Benzema and Ronaldinho

Even though Domenech is terrible, I've never really gotten Benzema.

I probably would have picked him, but I'm not shocked by it. Pato on the other hand, I am.

Never know, the coaches can substitute a player right up to almost the very end.

I wasn´t aware of that.

Anyone see the Fullham V A. Mardird game last night?

Amazing how bad both teams were, giving the ball away constantly. A.Madrid deserved the win imo, they were the hungrier team and went for it. Forlan is excellent, I wonder if Man United will want him back one day🙂
