My own national team is complete mess. The coach is unable to build a team. Both the players and the medias are calling all his choices into question so he can't work properly.
Actually and as I said before (so many times) I don't particularly support any team, the only thing that matters to me is the beauty of the game (for instance, I was a staunch supporter of Monaco last year, they played so well. This year I don't even care about them: many good players are gone, and even though other talented ones came (Saviola, Chevanton,...) they are unable to play as a team, so I just ignore them. (Other example, during the 2000 EC final, I was for Italy)
Just give me a team that plays well and I'll be glad to go for it. See? You can't find any. (oh , Barcelona maybe)

Cheer up! France ain't playing THAT bad! They are rebuilding and I fear their visit to Dublin in September next year...
I'm no Chelsea fan but their coach is one smart b*stard! And they WILL go far! I'm just wondering if he will *give* Porto the point(s) they need to reach the knockout stages for *old time sakes*...
Attractive football? Yeah, Barcelona but they'd want to plan against the bump Celtic gave them last night.
In a broader view I too like watching teams playing THE GAME...that's why I was so disappointed with the past WC and the EC. For me, the last GREAT WC was '86 with that fabulous Brazilian team...Zico, Socrates et al. Only thing was they came up against the French in the cauldron of Guadalajara... 😱
And then, more disappointingly, the exhausted French couldn't exact a just revenge against the Germans for the ROBBERY of '82 in the semi-finals... 🙁 Roll on 2006!!! ✅ I just hope they meet again!

Amen to all that ✅
redeemer your right, international football (in europe) has seriously dipped. the past greats, the italians, the dutch, the germans, the spaniards, they have great squads, but the players are so exhausted at the end of the season that they cannot seriously compete, which is a shame.
euro 2004 was a farce, i was so disappointed. the last world cup wasn't bad, it was watchable because of the brazilians quality, irelands overperforming, and the koreans (and the officials) robbing the spanish, which to this day i cannot comprehend.
france nowadays could be a great team if the manager got his act together, some players shouldn't be in the team, silvestre (in the centre of defence?), barthez, wiltord. they also need to sort out henry's inconsistency, then they can get back to being one of the best in the world. they have the players: pires (despite the diving), henry, trezeguet, vieira, dacourt. they just need to gel.
i'm worried that brian kerr let gary breen back into the ireland team, and the fact that richard dunne won't get picked ahead of andy o'brien or cunningham. if kerr picked the right team he could beat france. my choice would be:
Given
Carr
Dunne
Cunningham/O'brien
O'Shea
A. Reid
Miller
Keane
Duff
Rob. Keane
Morrison
They can beat the french... unless the french put out this team:
Frey
Sagnol (If he hasn't retired)
Mexes
Boumsong
Evra
Vieira
Dacourt
Pires
Giuly
Trezeguet
Henry
then we'd have a real cracker on our hands.
