Football (Soccer)

Hmmm I play Rugby and my team mates will ask if I am playing football next saturday, they mean rugby but DO call it football. I also play 'football' - I am probably better at soccer than Rubgy(football) but prefer rugby because it's a better team game - I play soccer on sunday for a team and Weds in a 5-a-side league and monday for fun/fitness training so I do know what I am talking about 😛

In rugby union we kick probably as much as Aussie rules and nearly as much as Gaelic, so if you do not wish to call rubgy football then you should not allow these other 2 to be done so - all in all they are ALL football of a differing code. If there was no kicking it would be Handball, which is an official sport with goals, or basketball etc.

american football and rugby don't actually deserve to be called football in the first place...most of the game is done by hand.

soccer on the other hand can be called nothing BUT football....

It's just different terminology for different people, it's still football even though it's rugby, we still kick the damn thiing, in fact some Rugby League players think we kick too much in rugby Union.

Big weekend coming up. Scottish Cup quarter finals. The Dons live on Sky!!! Wonders never cease. Hopefully we'll batter Dundee Utd, their manager is so annoying, daft wee ned!

Can see the semis being Celtic, Hearts, Hibs and the mighty Aberdeen.

seriously though...the scottish league is pretty dire although it is a physically tough league to play in (so all the pansy ass southerners say anyway)

and look what celtic have achieved in past seasons

hammered ac milan...liverpool...beat man u and arsenal...got to the final of the uefa cup and got beat by jose mourinho's cheating porto side...some pretty big scalps although most were in friendlies...

apart from them and rangers the rest are pretty dire...it has to be said
