the best jedi

I think it was evil Palpatine manipulating Anakin into not trusting the Jedi and promising him all kinds of power that the Jedi will never offer him.

Yeah I know that is the undoubted biggest motivator, I stated my post wrong.

In E3 the Jedi continually do things they believe to be right that Anakin doesnt understand. The biggest example of that is the scene in Yoda's chambers.

They should feel the conflicts he has inside, and no what they say is effecting him in the opposite way they intend.

it's nice to see QG getting some of the credit he deserves

I think Yoda is the best because he is the only one who doesn't get killed. Even Obi-Wan and Anakin get killed. Except for Luke... just barely Luke survives. Imagine how hard it would have been to remain in complete solitude for 20+ years surrounded by the darkside, having lost everything you had worked for for 800 years. Seeing all of your friends destroyed. All of your pupils. Realizing that the war that had also cost so many lives was because of a sith lord you were fighting for. Yoda endured to the end. He didn't wuss out and get himself killed just to end the misery. 😛

Yoda's a fighter I'll give you that he's one of my favorite character's and he kicked A$$ in ROTS. Dark Yoda that's a cool sig.

I'd think qui-gon is the most powerful force user since he was first to learn how to become al ghosty.

Qui-gon is the Jedi most in tune with the force, even in a time when the Jedi order was straying from it's proper ideals and becoming too political. Qui-gon rules.

No Votes for Windu? This is a close poll for me, however in the end I had to choose Yoda, seeing as he is well above all other Jedi at timesi . Mace Windu was awesome, shame Anikan had to go on and kill him (and that he never got to play a bigger role until now).

When Anakin, struggling with his own feelings but doing the "right thing" anyways, tells Windu that Palpatine is a Sith, if Mace had just showed comradery for ONCE in his life to Anakin, given that they are BROTHERS in a very real sense, Anakin would have felt important, felt cared about, felt like he was being treated like an adult instead of a five year old, and helped Windu annihalate Sidious and ended 20 years of oppression before it began. As bad as the council in general treated Anakin (not all of it unjustified but by no means justified either), Mace was by far the worst. That's reason enough he's not the best Jedi

Windu - put up a magnificent fight, but Palpatine wasn't using his full powers
Yoda - owned by Palpatine. Great Jedi, but not as powerful as the Emperor
Luke - we have no idea of his potential yet, judging by movies and not EU which isn't canon
Qui-Gon - great Jedi, but we have no means to compare him to besides that Obi-Wan as a Padawan bested Maul (yes he did. Maul had one lucky move, and so did Kenobi, so they're even in that last move) and Qui-Gon didn't, so Kenobi is more powerful

Anakin & Kenobi, here is the debate. Anakin is obviously more powerful and skilled, but Kenobi is more focused and knows how to defend himself better and such. Anakin, if he had not turned, would no doubt have become invincible. Kenobi wins because of this. He was THE MAN in Episode III, no doubt. He bested every single one of his opponents, and with the acception of Anakin, with ease. Dooku got a lucky shot in. Kenobi and Anakin are both pretty much equal, but Kenobi wins this.

The fact that Yoda and Obi-wan become Qui-gon's apprentices at the end of ROTS shows that it was Qui-gon who had things right all along and not them. Their mistakes (along with the mistakes of Windu and the rest of the Jedi) led to the turn of Anakin and the rise of the Sith. Qui-gon is, as we learn at the end of ROTS, is very much in tune with the force, moreso than Yoda and Windu. He was in tune with the will of the force. He is SO much so a pivotal, incredibly important character. That is probably why the song played during the duel in which he dies is called Duel of the Fates, because with Qui-gon hangs the very fate of the Jedi, the Sith, and the galaxy!

Thus, Qui-gon is the best.

INCREDIBEL I JUST SEEN IT THE MOVIE IS SUPER but i dont understand r-2 is whit is memori ok but c-3po gets is memori deleted then in 4 r-2 dosent tell luke how is his fhater ? and i remeber dat in 4 or 6 obi say to luke that his fhather hides him and his sister.

he and his sister are hidden FROM his father

I really like this thread because there are soooo many ways you can look at this question. I still like Yoda though. 😄

Grievous counts as a jedi so General Grievous KICK ASS DUDE30

how does Grievous count as a Jedi? I own a lightsaber it doesn't make me one lol

grievous doesn't count. he's a robot/alien!
how did the sith come to being? and who are they? i know they're bad but is that all to it?
surly some1 stared it 800 yrs ago.
and how did the jedi's come to being?

NJO Luke.

According to GL about 10 years after the ROTJ luke is the most powerful jedi off all time( yoda being 2nd). Al tho he claims obi wan to be the best swordsman.

He must have said that a long time ago, before the PT because in Yoda and Mace he created two swordsman that Obi-wan couldn't touch with a 3,742 foot pole!

definately he used the story of his former sith master to appeal to anakin wanting to stop people dying. but throughout the whole film you can see anakin isnt in full control and maybe qui gonn would have prevented him from turning
