Okay, now that I've got your attention...

Upon arriving home from school today I found a strange dog wandering around in my yard. I have no idea who the dog belongs to (no collar) and neither do any of the neighbors I've talked to. I don't want to call the humane society just yet because I'm a wee bit worried they'll rush over here and take the poor animal back to their castle of ultimate doggy doom. Currently I have no idea what to do. Suggestions?

I already have two, and the one of 'em isn't taking too kindly to the newcomer. Plus it'd be kind of awkward if the original owner came along. I don't want to get unduly attached just yet.
