Dreamland:
A table sat in the middle of a shiny room that was filled with ornaments made of gold. On the table, there lay at least a few years worth of food, and on the far left of the gigantically lengthy table a person’s face is shining bright with joy. A tiny vibration can be seen, every few seconds, as the pure white cloth on the table begins to move.
From the opposite side of the table, a voice calls out to the happy boy. “You know, you could slow down a bit. The food isn’t going anywhere.” The boy looks up to answer the voice, “But grandpa, I haven’t had such a good meal in years.” “Alright alright, just slow down, or you might begin to choke on your food.” The old man added with a laughing smile.
As the boy began to grab the large piece of meat with his fork, it began to melt. Looking up at the table, everything began to turn liquid-like and melt. Jumping out from the brown puddle, which was a chair only a few seconds ago, the boy began to run to the opposite side of the table.
“Grandpa, whats going on? Grandpa!!” The boy screamed at the top of his lungs, but no answer came. Still running, the boy realized that he was getting nowhere. Still screaming out for an answer to what was happening, the boy dropped to his knees. Suddenly, a voice came from behind him, “Help me Jin, help me!” Turning around, Jin saw a melting figure standing there. He could barely make it out, but the monstrous thing standing before him was his grandfather.
“Why don’t you help me, Jin? Can’t you do it? Are you so weak?” Walking forward, the liquidy figure began to blurt out this sentence over and over again. Jin, stunned and horrified by the sight, couldn’t move. Jin pulled his head down and put it between his knees and began to ask for forgiveness. “I’m sorry grandpa, I can’t do anything, I’m too weak!!”
The sound of his grandfather’s voice stopped. Jin slowly looked up; there was a bright orange/pink/purple light coming straight at him. Without flinching, Jin looked straight at the beam of light. “If this is my punishment for not saving my grandpa, then I accept it.” As a strong wind blew through Jin’s body, he felt a sudden jolt pulling on his soul.
Reality:
Jumping up, Jin closed his eyes. The light of the sun setting was sharp and was piercing his eyes. Jin assumed that this was the light that had awoken him from his dream. Realizing he was in an old, dusty cabin, Jin started to wonder how he got here and what he was doing in this comfy bed. His wounds had healed, what with the healing touch of the wolf and his own healing abilities, and his energy was back to normal as well.
Looking around at his surroundings, Jin noticed a dark shadowy figure standing near the door. After closer examination, the shadow turned out to be a girl, and it seemed she was watching the sunset. She was also leaning on the door frame, which made her look almost peaceful, but Jin felt as if he had met this person before.
As Jin watched the girl, an old memory flashed through his head. She almost looks like that other girl…but it would be impossible for her to be here. If only I had reached there in time, I could have grabbed her before she fell…and grandpa also. If I had done something, they would still be here! Clenching his fist, Jin began to look at the lake, which caught his eye a moment earlier.
