After everything you have been through today, Jelena- and let's face it, it has not been a good day- this final exertion seems to be killing your legs. Your muscles are getting tired, your wounds are hurting, and mentally, you are simply wearied from all this effort.
Anaz seems like he is possessed with endless stamina; he races up the stairs as it the ground was on fire beneath him.
About thrity seconds after she hads inside, the top of the building collapses as a sleek black vessel of unknown origin bursts out, and with a mighty burst of speed starts to shoot off into the sky.
"I won't say anything," says Anaz. He reaches for his comlink.
"Zero, this is King. Unidentified mark, east side of target sector. Intercept. Out."
"There would not have been a battle, if it were not for that woman," Jelena sighs. "It is only her doing that brought the conflict. It is only her doing that even brought the need for Jedi into this. We were all under the influence of the Dark Side."
Jelena shakes her head, and turns to Anaz.
"You have done well, General," Jelena says, attempting to salute him, which seems somewhat slacking due to her fatigue. "I congratulate you on your victory. Send men into the Sanctuary to put out the fires, and bring Volun to me."
"Technically, we failed our mission," Jelena says, looking off into the skies of Cassilis, blotted with smoke. "We were to prevent conflict. Whoever that was forced everyone into the conflict. The reason Miran distrusted us was solely because he was under her influence. The battle would not stop when I ordered a halt in the slaughter because you were all so focused on it. Roan attacked me when I went to stop him from needlessly killing Volun, though that was averted."
Jelena turns to Anaz.
"I am still not sure what happened. Nonetheless, some victory is ours. You quelled the uprising, we removed the Disturbance in the Force. She stole something from the Vault, though..."
Jelena looks up to the sky.
"I have a feeling we will be seeing her again."
"Very probably," says Anaz, "and therein lies your victory.
"Forget about what your mission was, Jelena. The Council sent you on what was meant to be a negotiation. But whoever these people were, they had power enough to put Volun into position. To overthrow an order here that has lasted milennia. To set all of us against each other, knowing how to exploit our rivalries so that I though Volun was backed by corporate interests and poor Miran thought you would present the largest problem. They stopped my artillery train from arriving, one of them was at least as powerful as a Jedi in a fight, and they also exhibit these strange powers of which you speak.
"This was no negotiation, Jedi., This was a carefully planned aggressive move against the heart of the Republic. This was War. But they FAILED their objectives. Ok, they have taken something from the Vault which I assume is of value. But if they could have done that free from reprisal, they would have done so openly. What did they do instead? They used trickery and guile. You tell me the Vault was destroyed? If you had not worked out what you did and gone down there... no-one would have ever known they were ever here. Everyone would have blamed each other.
"You've exposed them. And yes, they will return but next time, you will know what to expect. They've lost their advantage. I doubt any of us could have stopped them with all the advantages they had. Next time it will be different, I am sure."
This brings a smile to Jelena's face.
"Thank you, General," Jelena says. "That is encouraging. I want to apologize to you for our assumptions as to your nature. Being that you were related to the infamous Larios Kuylen, we nearly presumed that you yourself were behind the attempts to access the Vault. I am sorry we thought so, you are a valuable ally, and, though I am not much of a military person, I hope to work with you again."
