Smuggler might be unkind, but he's no form of corporate trader- he goes out and does the work himself.

"Then the negotiations are over," says Volun.

"Volun, you do not want to bring this to war!" Jelena says. "Surely you don't think that the men who are following you could survive any sort of battle? They were pacifists until you arrived, they would have no chance against an army from Tasker's Crown."

He smiles.

"There'll ne no war," he says, with an absolute certainty.

"Volun," says Skorzeny, "We cannot allow this situation to persist forever! Your people will be given every assurance of safe conduct and good treatment if you chose to lay down this pointless protest..."

"See this?" says Volun. "The vaunted pacifist Z'Har... how quickly they turn to forcible demands to get what they want." He looks at your lightsabre, hanging from your belt, Jelena. "At least you are honest," he comments.

Jelena blushes slightly, and pulls her robe over her twin lightsabers.

"I do not intend to use my weapons," Jelena says. She sighs. "I have forseen terrible events, Volun. Damage to the Sanctuary...the death of all of your followers...it is something I very much want to prevent."

"Yes, they do. That is precisly why we are here. We are to prevent the Z'har from doing something drastic. The Venerable Z'har would like nothing more than to blast you all to smithereens. Fortunatly we have stemmed that for the time being. But he is growing restless, and he has an entire army at his beck and call. It is not a pretty situation. I personaly am here to protect the intrests of the Republic. and the republic has an intrest in a peaceful resolution to this conflict. And that is what I plan to do. I don't think I can make myself any more clear on where I stand."

"I am sure you don't," says Volun (in regards to your first comment), "but at least you wouldn't pretend to be people of total non-violence and THEN draw your sabre. You carry it openly, and people know, Not like THESE people," he says, jabbing his thumb at Skorzeny.

"You started the violence!" protests Skorzeny.

"No-one is dead," snarls Volun, back. "One look at this situation speaks volumes about who the violent ones are. As to your feeligs about the future, Jedi, those I cannot help, nor do I believe. I simply do what I must in the name of justice."

"The Z'Har are not going to lay one finger upon me," says Volun to you, Roan. "It is all bluff and intrigue. If you really have the interests of the Republic at heart, you'll tell them to give me what I want.

"Now. Are we here to negotiate or not? I do not intend to account for my reasoning once again."

"Well what injustice needs to be righted? Explain your position to me. All I have heard of it is what the Z'har have told me..."

"I don't intend to waste time here, Jedi. Skorzeny, do you have anything to offer me or not?"

"Err... well..." stammers Skorzeny.

That's a Sidestep from Andro, which pays off- Twain and Varm fail to block him.

Leaving Gallagher clear to scoop up the ball!

"The Z'Har no longer have command over General Kuylen and his men," Jelena says. "We do. If these negotiations fail, we will have no choice but to invade the Sanctuary."

"But you must see that we do not wish to unless you fail to give us a good reason as to why a government that has lasted peacefully for generations should be toppled by a trader and a group of rebels? It simply does not make sense to me, Volun."

"You and your men would already be dead if not for Skorzeny."

"Oh, so YOU are now threanting violence against us?" asks Volun. "You don't have the power to get the Government to stand down, only they do. I negotiate with them."

Jelena would like to Scan him, and then Empathy his feelings towards us and Skorzeny...

He's angry, and he sees you as simply being here to reinforce their side. His contempt for Skorzeny is considerable.

I'm supposing he'd be very against having a one-on-one conversation with Roan or Jelena after the negotiations, which are looking fairly bad?

Depends how you pitched it!

"Volun..." Jelena says. "Would you mind if I had a word with you after the negotiations, whether they are successful or not?"

"What for?"

"I desire to see more of your side of the issue," Jelena states simply. "I will leave my weapons behind."

He looks you in the face for a few moments.

"No need for that,", he says. "You can meet me in the Sanctuary."

The Venerable Z'Har suddenly springs to life.

"No," he says, firmly.
