To prove that there is a Cultist and a damaged ship and a list of previous attacks? 😕

The list of previous attacks proves nothing about this situation.

The dead culists prove the Cult attacked. The damaged ship prove that that was the ship attacked. Where is evidence of number three?

More precisely that they stole them, as was in the statement, but it amounts to the same thing.

Maybe this is how the Cult is receiving the droids!

The droids are the easiest part- they were with the vanished shipment.

Then they're receiving something through these shipments. Maybe those weren't really tractor parts, but that's what the cover was?

But as far as checking more than one thing, there is a more obvious place to check first that I cannot help thinking that you have forgotten you didn't check.
