Well, think of it as part of a general programme of encouraging the ice to spread.

Perhaps to make the glacier seem more generic, as to hide it better?

Or maybe to make a large landing area for the freighters that we are supposing attacked?

Cannes is Xeth's nemesis in the Union- but of course, you don't have this info yet.

You guys ar estaggering through the bitter wind and driving snow, trying to find any minute clue in this expanse. Your trek through one of the ice valleys has found nothing; you drive on still further.

"Damn this cold!" Xeth says loudly, though maybe not loud enough to be heard over the yowling of the storm.

"So. Maybe this is what the renegades come from? Xeth and the others. Searching for the Techno Union." mutters Vlad. "Anyhows, I know you are uncertain of the Jedi, but if we do suceed in this with your help, than we all might make it out alive. If not, the droids will kill both me and Master Marcus, and you. So you have a choice here, help us and survive, fail to help us and perish"
