USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE III (RENEGADES)- The Hunters Hunted

Started by Fire89 pages

something wrong over here or something wrong far away?

Xeth, you are being fired at in advance of your action, so Sidestep does not kick in.

Xeth, your assailant has a Guns skill of 16. +2 is a hit. You have also become pinned and cannot move.

The barrage of fire continues relentless, blasting out the ground from under you and sending you painfully to the icy ground. It then suddenly stops.

Everything isnsilent for just a moment...

Then the next attack is at Vera. It's come from the OTHER side of you, and attacks her rear. Evens just misses her, but leaves her pinned.

It's Kiu who sees something first. It's now between you and the way down... somewhat above you, a small object in the snowstorm... you cannot quite make it out.

Far away, Marcus. Far away. But making your current mission close to a mockery.

"Hmmm we have to get away here ASAP Vlad something is seriously wrong else where, I fear we have been duped."

Vera-Kin grips her lightsaber tightly.

"Find a way in, we should, and quickly," Vera-Kin says, indicating the ground below them.

Would a Flying Charge be dangerous?

A skill of 16?!

Xeth activates Sidestep, then fires his sonic blaster, trying to shoot it down.

Ush, can Xeth move backwards to that thing we saw earlier? Supposing that that was an entrance into the glacier, we should probably like to go into it.

Actually, cancel that.

Xeth will put away his blaster and Draw his lightsaber, using Dodge for defense against this...thing.

I'm keeping my gun out and I will try to shoot him while I use Active Dodge again.

Kiu, you go for a shot. You roll + 3 for a 14...

... and hit thin air. Your opponent suddenly slips sidewats at asonishing speed, the movement barely being noticeable at all.

You have seen something move like it before- like the training probes Jedi use to train with Lightsabres.

You barely have that thought out before it fires at you. It rolls evens for 16; a hit. You are also pinned.

Vera- you aren't at all sure!

It has glided over to a new position to one side. You can see it now- it is shaped vaguely like a vase, thicker at the top than the bottom. And it is not very big; shorter than a man. Down the tapered, vase-like lower half are a number of compartments. One of them is open right noe and within are two gatling-style weapons that are giving out this incredible volley of firepower that overwhelms you.

(You may wish to check back to the dead bodies on the liner again)

Xeth will activate Sidestep.

Is Flying Charge too dangerous in this environment?

In any case, we need to get into this glacier's hidden base, and fast. We cannot fight it in this environment. Nor can we fight it with guns, unless we roll well. It is too fast and too skilled.

Sorry, increased your damages there- forgot the guns were twin-linked.

Same answer I gave Vera- you don't know.

Oh, gee, that's a real bonus.

Xeth will attempt to Flying Charge the Dark Thrael, with a vicious Geonosian war cry, leaping off of the ice and into the air, his blade flashing as it passes through snowflakes, towards the Thrael...

Ok, Xeth, you make a mighty leap up... you roll a +2 for a 16...

... and glance off of its shield, which hums slightly.

(This acts like a Droideka shield)

The Thrael doesn't even turn as you land behind it, Xeth- one of the panels opens up on the side facing you, revealing another pair of guns. It fires at you again, its evens just missing you as you Dodge- Pinning you.

Vera-Kin tightens the grip on her lightsaber, then spins it around for a Sword Whirl bonus. Then, she performs her own Flying Leap, hoping for a better attack.

Xeth snarls, then spends a frame trying to put some distance between the Thrael and himself, and uses his last frame for a Defensive Leap backwards.

Shit. Why do I have to be the only one without flying leap?

Kiu will draw his lightsaber and run to Dark Thrael if he can manage under the fire, with Guard being my defense.

Oh, and Ush, if Vorn can do something useful while he's not here, Xeth would like him to do as Vera just did; Sword Whirl and Flying Charge...but yeah, that's if he can.

Vlad nodded. I would fasten up my pace the best I could.

BB- no. If you aren't here to post, you can't get a good position on the damn thing.

Besides which, only one of you can Flying Charge it at a time, due to its position and the need to not hit each other. Sword Whirl also does not work with Flying Charge, which is an attack type of its own.

+2 is a 17, Vera; miss.

It now targets you; +1 io a 17, a hit.

Kiu, consider yourself switched. But what now? It is in the air, you cannot reach it!

New sequence. I am counting out Vorn for now.

The Dark Thrael spins lazily around and targets Xeth...

Xeth will Defensive Leap backwards, away from the pestering droid. Upon landing, he will put away his lightsaber, Draw his blaster, activate Sidestep, and fire on the Thrael.

Not much Vera-Kin can do at the moment. She has no 'prepare for combat' type powers, like Sidestep or Ward. And she's slow...

Get into a good position for another attempt at Flying Charge?
