Rand, be more decisive: We have right not to trust them, perhaps the person among us who has the money is not present, we can demand to see the Generator. I am sure they won`t abandom the deal at this point.

We have already given them the ship, they have advantage!

Yeah - go for the 'We gave you a deposit, we'll pay when we can actually take what we've bought.' line.

Rianna - I haven't got much of a clue - except maybe scale the building and enter from the top...

The deposit kinda got you here. Your ain diplomatic issue at this point is to get them to unlock a generator, else it is going to take you hours to get one onto a gravpad and out of here.

Yeah, but Rand can still demand they put it on the transport - because how does he know they won't just take his money?

Actually, at this point they are just asking to SEE the money. You refusing to show makes them suspicious.

Oh right. Well... That makes sense! I don't have much advice on what to do then, fellas. Sorry!

One solution might have been to have constrcuted some form of forgery in advance, of course...

... but as it is, it's going to have to come down to words.

Would Intimidation be useful?

Depends on your approach.

Ok, that comment made them ten times as suspicious.

"You can show us the money or we are done here."

"You think I would be stupid enough to even try to organize this if we weren't good for it?" Rand says, glaring at them.

"I've seen dumber. Show me the cash."

There isn't anything we can show them, is there?

I would like for Takuan to try a "You don't need to see the cash" or "You will show us the generator first," but he isn't on...

Agh. This is so pitiful. They have no leading figure, so we can do nothing with Mind Tricks. We have no money, so we can do nothing at all. The next thing I say will probably lead to them saying goodbye so we would have to kill them and go in ourselves.

You tried empathy?

Empathy will indeed identifty the lead guy, but you still can't Mind Trick the lot of them into thinking you have money when you do not.

It would have been SO easy to do a Qui-Gon mind trick to make them think a dodgy substitute was fine- at least long enough to unlock the generator- but that, as I say, would have required prep.

Say something like, you've been burned before on a bad deal and lost a lot of money, so you simply want to see it.

Iron Will maintained, Empathy to see who is in charge.

"Show me the generator. I've been through some rough experiences; the last generator I tried to get, I ended up losing not only my companions and my money, but also my nervous system..." Rand shows them the wires at the back of his neck. "...and my heart." He raps on his chestplate. "It was more pain than I've ever gone through in my life, and it turned out that there wasn't even a shield generator to begin with. I have no reason to suspect that you wouldn't do the same; you outnumber us, you have our ship, you could easily walk away with a profit without giving us anything. I assure you, if we see the generator, the money is yours."
