The Republic has laws about cultural respect that you can exploit.

It doesn't matter what the Bureau laws are, they have to respect and abide by cultural laws, whether they like it or not.

Thing is, if they don't believe us, the cultural laws are moot.

Though, Rand and Tanic are pretty good liars, would not take much to convince them.

THEY will never believe you. It's the threat of legal action that gets them moving. If you can make it seem convincing, then a judge might believe you, and they won't risk that. The Bureau simply has to play by these rules for now.

Then I say go with it! Rand already threatened legal action and stated how the cultural respect law plays into it, what's there to worry about?

Because, as Takuan says, you could make up any old crap and demand anything, working purely on that logic- it certainly raises your difficulties. If you could find a way to make it more convincingly grounded in reality, it would be helpful.

Well, with a good story and a good lying skills, it'll make it much easier. We have a story (and even a reason why it wasn't earlier mentioned) and we have good liars.
