Not true at all actually. Wolverine though is not bullet proof or stab proof by any means, he is still far more durable then an average person or even peak human. His muscles and bones are far denser then that of a normal human.

Ok, I don't care what one writer thinks, if Wolverine's heart explodes, he's dead. Why do we give all bad comics the same grout in arguments? Capt it up, would you really want Wolverine to be able to withstand getting his heard exploded? He's not The Spectre or someone ridiculously powerful and doing stuff like that basically takes away from the natural charm of the character. The biggest thing that I think Wolverine brings to the table is being tough for his size, and monumental over-achievment like a Batman, and when you make him unkillable, you take away from the character's meaning.

However, just because there is one writer who wants to give Wolverine fans what they want by having him survive his heart exploding, does not mean that it's right. You should not even like talk like that. Dude, it's ok of Wolverind loses. That's what makes him cool. He's an overachiever not awesomely powerful.

The reason he was chosen for the Weapon X program was because Cornelius suspected that he was immortal. Wolverine's healing doesn't need concious thought to work he even stated himself that it is active in every single cell in his body and that he could (if he had enough energy) hell from a drop of blood.

I read one issue of it and I saw the FF just show up and fight some guys and I said to myself "this is crap" and I put it back on the shelf.
