If my argument leans on Thing using other tactics against James is because Ben knows James. If Batman fought against an opponent he wouldn't beat using his h2h skills he would use his gadgets, he knows this and changes his battle style accordingly. To fight in a way that's negative for your outcome is either CIS or PIS -and let's face it, Ben is not that stupid-.
Also you've thrown around some "nice" arguments like thunderclap won't work, when we know thunderclap could work -but it's not an autowin by itself-.
I understand your point though, Wolverine wins hard if it gets to close combat, it just doesn't have to be that way.

Feel free to do it, it doesn't change that Logan's durability it's dependant on how he takes his hits. It's likely to resist as he's likely to be koed.

Logan will be fine, and has wistould them easily several times. Not sure why you believe them to be such a threat to him. Only real damage they cause are to ear drums which he heal instantly. Being blasted back wards by a shock wave is nothing compared to even taking class 30 punch and thats being generous.

Thing isn't stupid, no one said he was. BUT being prone to hand to hand fighting and easily goaded into it through antagonization IS a part of his character.
CIS IS a factor that comes into play in the forums and it's something Things guilty of a HUGE percentage of the time, including times when h2h tactics WON'T work AT ALL as against intangibles.
Don't compare Thing to DC's greatest detective when it comes to how they operate on the battlefield, they are worlds apart.
It doesn't HAVE to come down to hand to hand, but it probably will 95 percent of the time. 😬
