I used to work in a DD and the coffee there was way better than Starbucks.
Starbucks coffee really isn't that great. I like their frappacinos though. Especially the green tea one. But for just coffee, I'll go to DD or Caribou.

We have a place in Southern Cali, more around where I live though, Called Its a Grind, and their very similar to Starbucks, but much better.
Over-roasted coffee is nasty.
Here we've got Caribou Coffee, which is waaaaay better.
