I never said that there were no unique bands, I listen to most of those that you just listed, plus more. However they are still in the minority compared to bands who have a similar sound to another band from the past or present.

No, it's not an excuse for them to be unoriginal and shit. They may be unoriginal for the most part, but they also have their own sound in there. Them being shit? That of course comes right back down to opinion.

I've heard an entire Puddle of Mudd album, and have been thrown to death with ''She F*cking Hates Me'' in 2001, 2002 or whatever, and have come to one conclusion. They're full-blown rip-offs, riding along on the wave of bands who profit off 13 to 18 year old ''punks''.
Their sound comes from Wes Scantlin's vocals. His voice is what gives them an edge over other like bands, in my opinion.
