How about quasi-nuclear?

Deminuclear?

And like Scoob said how much damage is this thing gonna cause?

How about "Nighclear"

😛

Rather random questions:

Does anyone remember the name of the psychiatrist J'onn J'onze recommended to Superman a while back?

Also, does anyone know if there is a character in Image that can control his own blood named Blood Skin or Blood Worm or blood something? Maybe something blood? And if it's not in DC then where is it?

Does anyone know the issue or arch that the Juggernaut and Blob have had a confrontation? One might be a What If?... comic. I have been searching for this but haven't had any luck.

I have heard of at least two instances;

1.) Juggernaut runs blob over, but blob is still there unconscious.

2.) Blob chickens out and moves out of his way.

You could just make up a new word for it .... how much damage are you talking about anyway?
Mostly, I'm looking for a short-hand way to describe a character's durability level, and right now I'm just listing what she could withstand (eg, blockbuster bomb; deep-bunker penetrator), but that's awkward. I'd prefer something more concise. Basically, I'm thinking of under 0.1 kt (which, again, would fall under "battlefield" or "mini-nuke" category, like the Davy Crockett).

How about "Nighclear"

"Nucular?" "Nuquelar?" 😈

Then just say he took a davy crocket.

Nanonuke, micronuke, low yield fission bomb

Under 0.1kt is not even close to a normal nuke in power. In fact there are probably a few conventional bombs with that kind of out put.

How about the MOAB?

Rather than mentioning specific weapons, I'm really trying to describe a general range of destructive power, somewhere between 10 and 100 tons of TNT. That's why I thought (initially) that "prenuclear" would work. But, I dunno, something about the word leaves me restless.

Thanks for your ideas, everyone (damn, if I could only muster this kind of feedback in the "KMC Comic Book Tiers" thread. 😛 )

How about a short range ballistic missle? That probably the highest explosive yeild for a class of explosives without going nuclear.

If you bring it up in dialogue you could have someone ask "What he can take a nuke?" and then have the person reply "No. But short of a mini nuke that just about the biggest blast you can get".

.

That's the best idea I've heard so far. If it's actually in the story/dialogue.

"What, he can take nukes?" "No, but anything short of one."

Also, are you sure he can't take a nuke? ANY sort of nuke?

I mean, a fission bomb can release less energy than a single ton of TNT, but still be considered nuclear.

😕 . . . I'm not good at detecting sarcasm . . .

The idea of my suggested dialogue was that since he was described as being able to survive a SRBM (which is nonnuclear if the designer is in his right mind) that an ICBM or MRBM would usually have a nuke with enough power to take him out.

Could Magneto or DrPolaris (or people like that) effect Vibranium using just magnetism?

Probably not, the vibranium should absorb all the electromagnetic energy directed against it.

Funny you should mention that. I once did an "impact force" calculation of a warheadless ICBM. If my calculations were correct (and I'm sure they weren't), the kinetic energy of that kind of projectile was of mini or micronuke caliber.

I've done that in stories, yeah. But now I'm trying to work out a character profile, and I want it short and sweet.

She's a tough cookie, but any yield over 0.1 kt would pretty much do her in.

On a completely unrelated note (noting SC's vibranium post): has there been any type of comic-physics explanation as to why vibranium or adamantium is so durable? I mean, like why the atomic bonds are so strong? And how would that compare to the Surfer's galactic glaze (I believe the atomic bonds there have been compared to the nuclear strong force)? You would think Galactus could fashion the strongest material substances in existence. Or do humans have him beat? 😈

Sarcasm? What sarcasm...??

Anyways, my point was that there are conventional weapons that are much more powerful than some nuclear weapons. As I said, nuclear weapons exist that detonate with less force than a single ton of TNT.

That's not much, on the scale of things.

That would be exactly my problem 🙁

Vibranium absorbs energy when struck to it's basicly impervious. Presumably the energy leaks out slowly.

Adamantium . . . well I guess it has etemology on its side 😬

I see how it is... screw you all! 🙁
