Probably faulty writing that can be explained away by saying he altered the DNA enough to not trip Doomsday's "KILLIT" switch.

Let's face it, there were alot of weird moments and bad writing in H/P. It was a good story, but there were some things that didn't connect.

For instance, Waverider revealed DD's origin to Supes, but how could Henshaw know it? 😕

What I don't get is, how did they get to the 4th world without a boom tube? And why aren't they mini sized?

Strange can't use all of his artifacts while in astral form. But ever since Lee/Kirby the Eye of Agametto and the Cloak of Levitation have their own astrally projected form, and he can utilize them while projecting.

And as to the second? Not really sure. I've seen both a death of an astral form happen when the body dies and I've seen the astral form just getting stuck.

I was just re-reading some Englehart Doc. Strange and in it he states, "My astral form exists with or without my mortal trappings!"

But Strange back in those days was kind of special case, seeing as how he couldn't die and all.

I vaguely remember that there was a Superman - type hero in Image, with the normal "flying brick" type powerset, is this true, and does anyone have more information about him?

I was wondering some of those same things myself. Now, Superman actually used a boom tube. Presumably the freighter had boom-tube capability, and found Doomsday's 'casket' outside of the 4th world.

As for how Henshaw knew, or would know DD's origin...maybe he knows Kryptonian history?

Please, someone, answer my question from earlier. Henshaw is simply assumed to be a physical match for Superman...but has he ever actually stomped out the Man of Steel?

Is your average Henshaw...a physical match...for Superman...
